Fans celebrate sneaking into Super Bowl dressed as Sky Sports staff… as they dodge £10,000 ticket to watch Kansas City Chiefs win the title before gloating on social media

  • Ticket prices were a whopping £18,000 for the match, won by Chiefs in extra time
  • Mecole Hardman scored the decisive touchdown and gave his team the title
  • The fans showed off their play on social media and didn’t seem to get caught

Two NFL fans appeared to sneak into the Super Bowl dressed as Sky Sports staff on Sunday night.

Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl in dramatic fashion in Las Vegas, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 with the game going into overtime and Mecole Hardman scored the decisive touchdown.

In what is one of the most in-demand sporting events of the calendar year, millions of people watched on television as Travis Kelce screamed in the face of his head coach Andy Reid, nearly knocking the 65-year-old over and dragging him away.

However, the pair made up during post-match celebrations, and Kelce locked lips with superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift as his side clinched the title in Sin City.

As demand to catch a glimpse of the game was high, demand for tickets was even greater, which sold for anywhere from £5,500 to over £18,000. For some, however, there were other options.

X user @Smivy, named Adam Smith, shared a photo on social media that seemed to suggest he and another person snuck into the event.

“10k my a**e,” he posted on the social media platform, accompanied by a photo of two men wearing merchandise plastered with Sky Sports logos.

The first person can be seen wearing a dark shirt and jeans, with a sweater tied around his waist, and a cap with the broadcaster’s logo on it.

The second is seen wearing a similar cap and jersey with the logo on it, and both can be seen with their thumbs up at the 65,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium.

Also notable is that the pair are now wearing media passes for Sky Sports employees, as well as Sky Sports lanyards, suggesting they posed as Sky Sports employees to gain entry to the Super Bowl.

‘What a yippee. The best of all time perhaps?’ one X user replied. Another said: ‘I just got out of bed to applaud you sir.’

Kelce told reporters he felt “on top of the world” after winning his second straight Super Bowl and celebrating by kissing Taylor Swift on the field. The singer had flown back from Japan to Las Vegas and four consecutive Eras Tour shows, the last of which was on Saturday night, to cheer him on.

She was joined in the VIP suite – which Kelce reportedly paid £792,000 for – by Blake Lively, rapper Ice Spice, parents Andrea and Scott and Kelce’s family.

The 34-year-old then threw down the gauntlet for his team to compete for a three-peat next year – a feat never before accomplished in the NFL.
