Sergio Aguero has convinced fans he has a problem with Cristiano Ronaldo after a video of him watching the Portuguese legend’s finest goals went viral.
In the clip – which features Agüero watching a compilation of some of Ronaldo’s best goals on Spanish streaming giant Ibai Llanos’ Twitch channel – the Argentine remains surprisingly unimpressed with the stunning finishes on display.
And as a result, Twitter users became convinced that the former Manchester City and Barcelona striker “hated” the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star.
Agüero is very close to Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s biggest rival, and the pair share a notorious period of dominance in football with Luka Modric, the only other player to win the Ballon d’Or from 2007-2021.
A fan took to the social media platform to claim that Agüero’s reaction was proof that Argentines were still intimidated by Ronaldo despite having recently won the World Cup trophy.

They wrote: ‘Sergio Aguero really said that these free kicks are “luck” and that the goal against Porto was the goalkeeper’s fault.
“They won the World Cup but Cristiano Ronaldo still has the whole country rocked lmao,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Another echoed the idea that there were personal feelings contributing to Agüero’s opinion, adding: “The man really hates Ronaldo.”
A third agreed, claiming, “I love Agüero, but the guy just flat-out hated,” with several laughing emojis.
For a fourth football fan, it was the latest in a series of examples in which the Argentine took issue with a specific player, writing: ‘Biggest weirdo I’ve seen in my life.
“One of my favorite strikers ever in the Premier League era, but since he retired he has this obsessive attitude towards rival players and teams, not just Ronaldo, he did the same with (Eduardo) Camavinga after the World Cup final. ‘
The Argentina striker bizarrely labeled Camavinga a ‘d***face’ while streaming in the wake of Argentina’s penalty shoot-out defeat of France in the World Cup final that left 500,000 viewers stunned.
And a fifth Twitter user simply asked, “Why is Agüero such a hater?”
The Man City record goalscorer was forced to retire in 2021 after suffering cardiac arrest while playing for Barcelona.
But since hanging up his boots, he’s rarely been far from the action, most notably at the World Cup in Qatar in December.
Agüero was on hand to celebrate Argentina’s victory and was even photographed wearing an Albiceleste shirt with the trophy alongside his former teammates.
He also took part in former teammate Gerard Pique’s Kings League tournament – a five-team league that combined street football and Twitch streaming earlier in 2023.
But he also made an impression off the field, sympathizing with the bizarre split between Lionel Messi and Mexican boxing star Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
The latter claimed the PSG star was on a Mexican jersey after beating them in the World Cup, which Alvarez understandably took great offense to.
“Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and our flag,” Alvarez tweeted. “He better pray to God I don’t find him. Just as I respect Argentina, he must respect Mexico!’
The Argentine striker made six appearances against Ronaldo without ever beating him in a match

And Agüero took particular offense at the boxer’s comments, replying: ”
“You have earned the hatred of all Argentina. Only with Messi is it like saying something to Maradona. You were playing with fire,” Aguero said in a video posted on Twitter.
“So I’m sorry I followed you on Instagram but I stopped following you. I liked you, I don’t like you today.’
The feud was eventually quashed and Alvarez apologized to Messi.
