Many fans believe Tottenham’s James Maddison was lucky not to be sent off after appearing to punch Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates.

The incident took place in the closing stages of the first half, when Maddison made contact with Yates on the edge of the penalty area.

Yates, who fell to the ground after contact with Maddison, then complained to referee Simon Hooper.

VAR reviewed the incident but Maddison escaped punishment, with Hooper speaking to both players before the action got underway again.

One Forest supporter was particularly furious at the fact that Maddison was not sacked.
