Fans accuse Carrie Underwood of ‘way too much surgery’ ahead of hosting New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

As Carrie Underwood prepares to host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in Times Square, some people on social media are noticing her changing face.

After the 41-year-old country singer shared a video with her 13.2 million Instagram followers announcing that she was performing just before the ball dropped, some commentators accused her of having plastic surgery.

‘Stop the plastic surgery already. Sold soul,” one angry commentator accused.

The Before He Cheats singer shared an Instagram carousel of photos from her New Year’s Eve performances over the years.

“I’m looking back on some @RockinEve memories from 2015 and 2007 before bringing in 2025 with a live performance just before midnight in Times Square – catch New Year’s Eve at 8/7c on @ABC!” wrote the American Idol winner.

“How many surgeries has she had since then?” one commenter wondered, as another wrote, “way too much.”

Carrie’s followers quickly came to her defense, with one person replying, “What does that have to do with anything, why would you even mention that?” Why a rude and unnecessary comment.

She looks great! Some people are just naturally beautiful,” said another fan of hers, once called Carrie’s Care Bears.

This is far from the first time the Somethin’ Bad singer has been accused of having surgery, especially after sharing photos with her Instagram followers.

When she posted a selfie on December 3, commenters quickly wondered why she looked different.

Some attributed the evolution to heavy makeup, with one writing: ‘Carrie is very naturally beautiful, she doesn’t need all that makeup. She is absolutely beautiful inside and out and has an amazing voice.”

‘I’m not a hater. I know she had surgery when she fell, but what’s going on? You are already beautiful, most women want others to just age gracefully.

Carrie previously opened up about undergoing surgery after a nasty fall on the steps of her Nashville home in late 2017 while walking her dogs late at night.

After the accident, which resulted in 40 stitches to her face and a broken wrist, the Oklahoma-born singer admitted she felt compelled to speak out to avoid being accused of plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons.

‘I feel like I do [look different] a little bit. My biggest concern at the time was, if I don’t say anything, I feel like people will say, “What did she voluntarily do to herself?” And it certainly wasn’t a choice. I feel close to myself. I feel pretty normal,” Carrie said during a visit to Ellen DeGeneres’ show in 2018.

The mother of two, who hid her face from the public for months after her surgery, explained that the damage was worse than she initially thought.

When she posted a selfie on Dec. 3, commenters quickly wondered why she looked so different — and she's faced years of plastic surgery accusations on social media.

In the years since she fell while walking her dogs and received multiple stitches, the Grammy winner’s followers on social media have called her “unrecognizable” several times

“I feel like every time something happens, it’s adrenaline or something, you don’t really know until you take a moment to assess it,” Carrie said at the time.

In the years since the accident, the Grammy winner’s followers have repeatedly accused her of looking “unrecognizable.”

In September, Carrie shared photos from a fishing trip to Montana with her husband of 14 years, NHL star Mike Fisher, owner of Catchin’ Deers.

‘I love Carrie, but she needs to stop all the facial and dental enhancements. She used to be so beautiful and didn’t need to join the world of ‘unnatural beauty’, one of her followers wrote.
