Fani Willis’s pregnant daughter Kinaya, 25, is ARRESTED in Georgia for driving with a suspended license amid Trump election interference case

The daughter of Donald Trump’s arch-nemesis Fani Willis poses somberly for her photo in jail after being locked up for allegedly driving while her license was suspended.

Kinaya Willis, 25 — whose mother is leading a criminal case against the former president for election interference — was arrested on August 24 in Tyrone, Georgia.

An incident report obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com reveals that Kinaya, who is pregnant, was pulled over after officers caught her using a cellphone while driving her 2010 Nissan Altima.

She stated that she was using her cell phone while driving the vehicle because her mother had called her regarding her pregnancy, the report said.

Willis, 52, has had her own share of controversy over the past year, after she was accused of improperly pursuing a romantic affair with Nathan Wade (R), the special prosecutor she appointed to handle Trump's criminal case.

The Texas Southern University student told a Tyrone police officer she was “unaware” that her license had been revoked on May 13 for the same offense: driving while suspended.

Kinaya was then frisked, handcuffed along the highway and taken to the Fayette County Jail on suspicion of driving on a revoked or suspended license.

“Willis’ mother later arrived on scene to receive her vehicle,” the report said.

A photo of the arrest obtained by DailyMail.com shows Kinaya looking exhausted and dejected as she arrives at the 554-bed cell 30 minutes south of Atlanta.

She was subsequently released and was due to appear in Tyrone District Court on October 24, public records show.

The penalty for driving on a revoked license in Georgia is a minimum of two days in jail, a fine of at least $500, and an extension of the suspension for six months.

If Kinaya is found guilty of a second offense, the penalties include a minimum of 10 days in jail and a fine of between $1,000 and $2,500.

When asked for comment about Kinaya’s arrest, Willis immediately hung up on a DailyMail.com reporter. Kinaya did not respond to a message seeking comment.

Her arrest is a fresh blow for Willis, the celebrated Democratic district attorney for Fulton County who rose to prominence after accusing Trump of election meddling, but the case has been mired in controversy.

Last August, she secured the indictment of Trump and 18 others by a grand jury, accusing Trump and 18 others of violating Georgia’s anti-racketeering law by attempting to overturn the results of the Georgia general election.

Trump’s arrest on 41 charges led to the first-ever photo of a former US president being made public.

It was the fourth arrest in five months in various federal and state criminal cases for Trump, who narrowly lost Georgia to Joe Biden in 2020.

Four of the 18 suspects have pleaded guilty to a crime, but the case is unlikely to proceed before the November election due to a series of legal setbacks.

Months later, Willis faced a legal battle of her own when former White House aide Mike Roman alleged in a January court document that the 52-year-old woman had engaged in an inappropriate romantic affair with Nathan Wade, the special counsel she appointed.

Roman’s lawyers argued that the prosecutor had benefited financially because her lover used his earnings to take her on vacation. Willis admitted to the relationship but denied wrongdoing and maintained that the couple had split expenses.

Judge Scott McAfee decried the “enormous error in judgment” but refused to remove Willis from the case after Wade agreed to step down.

However, Trump and others have filed an appeal, and the Georgia Court of Appeals will not hear arguments until December, leaving the case in limbo until voters elect either Trump or Kamala Harris to the Oval Office.

At a Fulton County police event in May 2024, Willis burst into tears as she thanked officers for their safety, amid a flood of threats directed at her and her family.

One of those incidents was a “swatting” incident, where someone called police and falsely reported that a murder had occurred in her home, she said.

“The last couple of years have been really tough on me. But what’s kept me safe is this police department,” Willis added, according to WSB-TV Atlanta.

Her ex-husband Fred Willis told the same channel in March that his family had suffered from the attention paid to the Trump case.

Willis secured a grand jury indictment against Trump and 18 others last August, accusing them of violating Georgia's anti-racketeering law by attempting to overturn the Peach State's general election results.

Willis, who divorced his ex-wife 19 years ago, did not name Kinaya but complained that an attorney falsely suggested during the trial that one of his two daughters “flunked out of FAMU (Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University) and moved to California.”

“She didn’t drop out of school. She left school when COVID hit and went back home,” Fred insisted.

‘She then took a few classes at the metro and eventually transferred to Texas Southern University, where she just graduated with a 3.3. And now she’s on her way to law school.’

Social media pages confirm that Kinaya attended FAMU from 2017 to 2020, the year before her mother was elected district attorney for Fulton County, defeating Paul Howard Jr., a six-term incumbent district attorney who was her former boss.

During her final year as a journalist, she interviewed her mother about “millennial justice issues and the importance of female role models in the criminal justice system,” according to a Facebook post.

“Kinaya will also discuss with Ms. Willis how she has balanced motherhood and public service, and why she decided to run for Fulton County District Attorney,” the statement added.
