Fani Willis’ ‘lover’ spent more than $1,000 on FLIGHTS to Miami and San Francisco for the embattled Fulton County DA while he was investigating Trump and they were having an ‘improper relationship,’ new records show

Fani Willis’ alleged lover, Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, spent more than $1,000 on plane tickets so he and the Fulton County District Attorney could travel together while he investigated former President Donald Trump.

Bank statements included in Wade’s divorce case show Willis’ name on airline tickets, amid questions about why Wade — who doesn’t have much prosecutorial experience — was hired, and allegations that they had an affair.

The claims that Willis and Wade have an inappropriate relationship spoil the election interference case in Georgia against Trump and 18 accomplices, like one of the defendants. Former Trump campaign aide Mike Roman is asking the court to dismiss the entire case.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this on Friday that on October 4, 2022, Wade purchased an American Airlines ticket to Miami for himself, Willis and Clara Bowman, who is believed to be his mother, for $1,367.

That same day, Wade paid $2,672.55 to Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Three days later, Wade spent $3,835.26 on a company called Vacation Express, which offers travel packages.

Flight data analyzed by the AJC shows that Wade, Willis and Bowman arrived in Miami on October 28, 2022.

Wade and Willis traveled from Miami to Aruba while Bowman stayed in Miami and returned to Texas on October 31.

Wade’s credit card statement also shows he spent $370 on a Hyatt Regency in Aruba on Nov. 4 and $3,173 on Norwegian Cruise Line on Nov. 7, although it is unclear who used the hotel room and took the cruise.

Then, in April 2023, Wade purchased $817.80 worth of Delta Air Lines to San Francisco in both his and Willis’s names.

It is unclear when these flights were made.

Wade also spent $840.22 on May 14 on a DoubleTree hotel in Napa Valley.

Former President Donald Trump had a big day Friday with the release of bank statements showing that Special Counsel Nathan Wade had purchased flights for his alleged lover, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis

Trump had a good day with the latest reporting.

‘WOW! Just released credit card data (showing just a small sample) proves conclusively that DA Fani Willis of Fulton County, Georgia (crime-ridden Atlanta) conspired with her boyfriend/lover to falsely target me to ENRICH herself and the lifestyle of the wealthy and celebrities! Cruises, wineries, shopping and much more – paid for with money they got from persecuting me and other honorable American patriots!….” Trump posted on Truth Social Friday.

A spokesperson for Willis did not respond to AJC’s request for comment.

In a 127-page lawsuit, Roman’s attorney Ashleigh Merchant points to Wade’s “lack of relevant experience” but notes that he has received about $650,000 in legal fees since Willis appointed him to that role.

The complaint called that a “self-service arrangement,” as Wade took Willis to Napa Valley, Florida and the Caribbean.

Trump’s attorneys said Friday they are considering joining Roman’s case against Willis.

The judge has scheduled a hearing on the case for February 15, and prosecutors must file a response by February 2.

Merchant provided no evidence of a romantic relationship, instead citing “sources close” to the alleged couple.

Wade’s estranged wife Joycelyn Mayfield Wade provided the bank statements in a lawsuit when she tried to get Willis to testify in the divorce case.

In a filing on Thursday, Willis sought to dismiss the subpoena, with her attorney Joycelyn Mayfield accusing Wade of trying to interfere in the Trump election interference case.
