Fancy seeing you here, Prince William! The Crown star Ed McVey mingles with fashion royalty at the Loewe Paris Fashion Week show in a quirky jumper and flared trousers

TV royalty Ed McVey mingled with fashion royalty at Paris Fashion Week on Friday when he attended the star-studded Loewe show.

The 24-year-old actor – who plays Prince William in season six of The Crown – looked dapper as he wore a white knitted jumper with a quirky square neckline.

He paired the garment with flared black trousers and patent black brogues.

Ed was in good company on the show as he joined the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Emilia Clarke for the presentation.

The aspiring actor has achieved stratospheric fame in recent years after starring next in The Crown Meg Bellamy, 21, who plays Kate Middleton.

Ed recently insisted he didn’t want Kate and William’s royal love story to appear ‘plain sailing’ in the hit Netflix series.

The second half of the series, due out in December 2023, focuses on William and Kate’s romance, which blossomed at St Andrews University in Scotland.

Meg imitated the royal family’s iconic parade down the catwalk for charity during the show.

Kate – then an art history student – walked onto the stage in a see-through dress and caught the prince’s attention.

William looked at his future wife from a £200 front row seat and said: ‘Wow! Kate’s hot!’

Ed told me The Telegraph of playing the royal family and sharing his and Kate’s love story: ‘We didn’t want to make it a smooth journey, meeting each other, falling in love and then getting back together.

“We wanted it to be stagnant and weird, like relationships, because it’s never smooth sailing, nothing is ever one thing.”

The actor added that he wanted to put “a lot of bollards and emotional brick walls in how they could get together in the early stages.”

“We want the audience to say, ‘Oh, just say the right thing, or stop being so awkward with each other and just come together,’ and then luckily you see that in the end,” he added.

While Ed is in Paris for the fashion shows, the real Prince William spent Friday in Wrexham to mark St. David’s Day.

The Prince of Wales, 41, chatted to pupils from All Saints’ Primary School to see their traditional ways of celebrating the feast day that marks the patron saint of Wales.

Upon his arrival at school, the children gave him a bouquet of flowers for his wife Kate, while she is at home recovering from surgery.

The Princess of Wales, 42, will not carry out any official royal duties until Easter following abdominal surgery in January – and Kensington Palace insists she is still ‘doing well’.
