FAN VIEW: Pep Guardiola’s fight for this club shows how much he understands Manchester City and it’s what I want to see in my football manager

That’s what I want to see in my soccer coach. He came out fighting and spoke for all the Manchester City fans today.

When the news broke Monday, it was seismic. But he came out swinging, throwing as many punches as he could. He was acting out how we feel and I can’t tell you the difference in my mood after watching it.

My first thoughts when the news broke on Monday were, ‘Here we go again!’ He sent me spiraling and I kept thinking, ‘Where do we go from here?’ She was wondering how we could go on with such a heavy cloud hanging over the soccer club.

The season has hit a bump in the road and I thought this could completely derail the campaign. It was a moment of despair when the news broke. Will Pep Guardiola stay? Will the players stay? Will we be allowed to make signings?

But now I feel happy and very happy that he did this before a big game on Sunday.

There have been times when Pep has called the fans and it hasn’t gone down well with me. But this week he underlines how much he understands the club.

The way he cried when we won the title last season, I thought: ‘You’re one of us now, Pep.’

The fans will be there no matter what. People can take away our trophies but they will never take away the memories we have lived.

As fans, we are on the front line. We wear the shirts. I know it’s an old school mentality, but I’ve been through much worse with this football club. I signed up to support them when we were a club on the slide.

I didn’t sign up for trophies… I fell in love with the club for all its flaws but also for being an ugly and non-conformist duckling.

Almost every City fan has experienced the ups and downs of this club. I wouldn’t have it any other way and I wouldn’t have my manager any other way.
