Renowned Nigerian prophet and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has advised Victor Osimhen against joining Chelsea this summer.

The Blues have already spent almost £200million on 12 players this summer, with Pedro Neto the latest to join following his £54million move from Wolves.

Now they are keen to add Osimhen to their ranks, having previously been linked with the 25-year-old as part of a swap deal involving disgraced striker Romelu Lukaku.

However, Ayodele has warned Osimhen that a move to the Premier League giants will “kill” his career as he “will not shine”.

Ayodele further said that the Nigerian Football Federation should not call him up again if he completes a move to Stamford Bridge – according to Famous people.

In a recent video, Ayodele was heard saying: ‘I want to quickly advise Osimhen not to go to Chelsea because if he goes there he will not shine and it will ruin his career.’

‘NFF, if Osimhen goes to Chelsea, you should not call him up anymore. And sending him to the Super Eagles still needs to be considered carefully, because we have everything in place for the World Cup and the Nations Cup.’

Osimhen’s future has been under discussion for a few days now. Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is in London to talk to Chelsea about a possible swap deal.

However, Napoli are said to be asking for more than one player in return for Osimhen. Cesare Casadei has also been mentioned as another player Chelsea could potentially throw into the mix, along with Lukaku.

Napoli confirmed earlier this month that Osimhen wanted to leave the club after he was left out of the Coppa Italia squad for the match against Modena.

Osimhen has enjoyed success in Serie A for many years, scoring 31 goals in all competitions in the 2022-23 season, helping Napoli to the title.

Osimhen is so sought after that two Chelsea icons are approaching him with convincing intentions: John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba.

“I hope Chelsea fans finally see him come to the club. I will make sure I send him those texts and calls so Chelsea is his top priority,” Mikel said.

“But it seems like he loves the club and wants to come to Chelsea. I’m sure all the big clubs want to sign him. I think it would be fantastic for the club if we could get his signature.

‘Didier also speaks to him, shares his own ideas and what the club means to us. We all want Victor to come to the club. If it happens, it happens. It’s a huge transfer fee, but if we can match that and bring him to the club, that would be absolutely fantastic.’

Osimhen has previously been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain after the French club lost star striker Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid this summer.

Lukaku, who spent the past two seasons on loan in Italy with Internazionale and Roma, failed to live up to expectations after returning to Stamford Bridge in 2021 and Chelsea are keen to let him go.

Casadei, 21, has barely featured since signing for Chelsea in 2022. He spent part of last season on loan at Leicester, where he worked with the Blues’ new manager Maresca.
