A Louisiana grandmother and her family have won over $100,000 from America’s Home Videos for a hilarious prank showing them packing her own belongings for Christmas.

The Williams family, as part of their Christmas tradition, began stealing items from their grandmother’s house by pretending to go to the bathroom to take and pack them.

The objects were quickly gift-wrapped, ready to be presented to each other on Christmas Day, in front of other family members.

When it came time to open the first present, grandmother Carol Keating became suspicious when she seemed to recognize an ornament that resembled one she already owned.

“I have one just like it at home!” she said. When the second gift was opened, the shrewd senior began to realize that something was definitely not right.

‘Ha! I have something like that at home!’ she said as one of the younger girls showed off a Michael Kors wallet.

Relatives gathered in the living room, doing their best to suppress laughter while pretending not to know what was happening.

All the younger family members joined in on the prank and it was all captured on the video entitled ‘Gifting Granny’s Goods’.

The family then submitted the good-natured Christmas prank to the ABC television program America’s Funniest Home Videos.

“My sister and I had seen a video on Tiktok about taking stuff from someone’s house and returning the gifts to see their reaction and we knew grandma was perfect for the joke,” says Paige Williams. WGNO.

“They took turns going to the bathroom, then took random items from her house and hid them in the bag,” Williams explains.

“We wrapped all the presents and told grandma it was a new game we decided to play at the last minute, so we bought her a present to play with.”

The family says the whole prank was all in the spirit of how their grandma normally acts – a funny woman who is notorious for giving pranks.

While they may have cut back when it came to gift-giving in 2022, there will be no more excuses this year after the video of the silly prank won the family the grand prize of $120,000 after being named the funniest video of The season.
