A family is mourning the shocking loss of their 18-year-old son after he was pulled unconscious from their swimming pool shortly after entering through a slippery dive.
Paramedics were called to the Yolanda Street address in Albion Park, Shellharbour south of Sydney, NSW, at around 2.15pm on Thursday.
The teen was found unconscious and pulled from the water by a family member before paramedics arrived.
The 18-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported by ambulance.

A crime scene was established at the home by officers from the Lake Illawarra Police District and forensic officers also attended the scene later on Thursday.
However, ambulance personnel were unable to revive him and he died on the spot.

The Illawarra mercury reported that the teen’s death is believed to be being treated as a possible medical incident, and not a drowning.
