Family shares emotional update on Oklahoma student, 20, found unconscious in Mexico after being ‘drugged’ at Cancun swim-up bar

An Oklahoma college student who was allegedly drugged at a pool bar in Mexico has returned home. Her boyfriend’s mother tells of the horror of the situation.

Zara Hull, 20, was finally allowed to go home on Friday after spending a week in the hospital. Her and her friend Kaylie Pitze’s amniotic fluids were reportedly numbed during a vacation with their boyfriends in Cancun on Aug. 2.

“This really hits home tonight as I sit here and think about just one week ago that our worst nightmare began,” Stephanie Snider, the mother of Hull’s boyfriend, wrote in an emotional Facebook post.

Hull was rushed to hospital after she began convulsing, losing consciousness and becoming “virtually paralyzed.” After convulsing throughout the night, doctors intubated the young woman and continued to pump her full of medication.

The next morning, her boyfriend, Jack Snider, found her on life support. The doctors told him they would take her to another location for an MRI scan. He refused and told her he was discharging her.

“We believe they were planning on taking her to trade her or possibly even take her organs (which we were later told is a common thing that is done),” Stephanie speculated on Facebook. “They would most likely have done something to my son as well, possibly even killing him.

“This happens a lot, people. People all the time. It could be you or your family next time. Please be aware.”

While it’s unclear whether Snyder’s theories are correct, it was certainly an unpleasant experience for the hapless tourists.

Jack had spent the night on the second floor of the hospital after paying $200. He was in a room that could only be locked from the “outside,” his mother said, noting that the floor was “empty.”

“He didn’t dare sleep or close his eyes for fear that someone would come in and do something to him,” she wrote.

The hospital reportedly demanded more money to discharge her, saying an air ambulance to the US would cost $26,000.

The group booked a private jet to fly them to Dallas, where Hull was hospitalized while doctors tried to determine the cause of her ailment.

Doctors say they found no abnormalities in Hull, despite her having suffered at least 18 convulsions.

The families 'believe they planned to [Hull] away to be trafficked or perhaps even to have her organs stolen.' They believe the girls may have been drugged with 'synthetic fentanyl', causing them to pass out in the bar (pictured)

They say it’s possible she was sedated.

“We believe it may have been synthetic fentanyl,” Hull said. KVOR.

During her stay in Texas, Hull had to learn to walk again, and she still can’t fully remember what happened to her then.

“There are still so many things she doesn’t remember — not just the time she passed out in Mexico, but the first few days she was back in the US,” Stephanie wrote.

“That’s so upsetting for her, but as we told her, that’s probably a good thing. Jake said to her, ‘Trust me, I’m grateful you don’t remember it because it was horrible and I wouldn’t want you to know how bad it was.'”

Stephanie said the student was still “weak” and “very tired” and still not feeling “normal,” but that this would improve “with time.”

The families started with a GoFundMe page to ask for help in covering the students’ medical expenses.

In one week, nearly $23,000 was raised.
