Family of Yellowstone ‘tourons’ learns very harsh lesson after getting too close to angry bison

A family of tourists were caught being chased by an angry bison in Yellowstone National Park after getting too close to the animal for comfort.

The video of the family of four was posted to the Instagram account “Tourons of Yellowstone,” which features examples of outrageous behavior by people the account deems “idiotic tourists” in the park.

Footage shows a disgruntled bison charging through the trees toward the family of two adults and two young children.

The family wandered off the paved path and into the trees when the visibly irritated bovine charged at them, tail raised.

“Hailey, Hailey, stay there! Don’t move. Stand next to the tree and don’t move,” the father told his daughter in the pink T-shirt.

As the angry bison ran past, the family ran out of the trees and took cover behind a tree at the edge of the trail.

After the first animal ran, a second bison followed while the family hid.

Once both bison had passed, the family continued down the trail, the mother holding her son’s hand and the father carrying his daughter.

Commentators strongly criticized the family for bringing the two so close to the wild animals.

“What did these people expect? IT’S NOT A PETING FARM,” someone said.

“Why do people check their brains when they are around wild animals? It is truly mind-boggling,” said another.

A third person said, “Wouldn’t you be angry if you were dealing with tourons?”

Others praised the parents for keeping their children safe and out of harm’s way.

‘That bison seemed to come out of nowhere, quite irritated already, the father stayed calm and so did that little girl, she is brave and so lucky that she listened calmly to her father. Very lucky,’ someone said.

“I am very impressed with the father and daughter. She seemed calm and obeyed her father without question. He even pushed the bison out of the way,” said another.

This summer, several examples of “tourons” have gone viral, including a video showing a group of people wandering off the boardwalk and wading into a hot spring in Yellowstone.

Yellowstone’s hot springs have extremely high temperatures, close to boiling point or even higher.

The video shows people walking through the thermal mist and picking up things from the ground.

Tourists risked being severely burned or contaminated by toxic fumes because they ignored signs directing visitors to stay on the designated paths and boardwalk.
