The family of former NRL star James Maloney have appealed for help after his 14-year-old son was reported missing.
His partner Jess had posted a message on Instagram saying they were ‘desperately looking’ for their son Kade.
‘He bought a train ticket in Gosford at 1.51am. We believe he walked from Green Point to Gosford and is likely heading to the Penrith area,” Jess wrote on Instagram.
“We really want to know that he’s okay, and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is, that’s fine too, but we just really want to know that he’s safe.
‘Have you seen him or heard of him, please contact us. He has James’ phone, so James can’t be reached.’
“We really want to know he’s okay, and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is, that’s no problem, we just really want to know he’s safe.
‘The police are also helping us, so inform them if you know anything. Please share too. Thank you.’
New South Wales Police are also appealing to the public for help in finding the teenager.
It is understood the boy was wearing a white T-shirt and North Queensland Cowboys shorts.
“When he could not be located or contacted, officers from the Brisbane Water Police District were notified and began an investigation into his whereabouts,” NSW Police wrote in a statement.
‘Police and family are concerned for his well-being as his disappearance is out of character.
‘Kade is described as a white individual, approximately 170cm tall, medium build, with short light brown hair and blue colored eyes.
‘He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue North Queensland Cowboys football trousers and carrying a black bag.
“Police investigations indicate he may have traveled to the Penrith area by train.”
