Family Guy star Patrick Warburton refuses to apologize for the show’s humor

Family Guy star Patrick Warburton has slammed critics of the animated show, stating that he will “no longer” apologize for being one of the voice actors.

Patrick, 58, voices Joe Swanson in the comedy, a paraplegic police officer who suffers from impotence and incontinence.

She has appeared on the controversial show since its launch in 1999, and despite her own mother condemning the series, she revealed that she thinks critics are simply “taking themselves too seriously.”

patrick said foxnews:’I used to apologize for being on Family Guy, and I don’t apologize anymore because this world is horrible native satire.

‘Everybody takes themselves too seriously and… I think in a lot of ways it becomes an overwhelming mess. But we need humor in our lives, and we need love and humor, acceptance. Everything is quite simple.

Pounding: Family Guy star Patrick Warburton has lashed out at critics of the animated show, stating that he will “no longer” apologize for being one of the voice actors.

The television series tells the story of ignorant Peter Griffin and his wife Lois, who live in Quahog with their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie.

Baby Stewie is some kind of evil genius baby who can’t stand his mother and wants to destroy the world.

Naturally, the family owns a talking dog named Brian.

Despite receiving generally positive reviews and good ratings, the show has been criticized for its use of offensive jokes including racial humor and violent, gory, and disturbing imagery.

One of the main critics of the show is The Parents Television and Media Council (PTMC), an American group that advocates for what it considers responsible and family-friendly content on all media platforms.

Patrick’s mother, Barbara, is a member of the group and in 2011 confessed that she wanted her son to leave the show because she thinks he offends God by acting on it.

She said of the show: ‘The wrong messages are out there and that’s my main concern. Spectacles like these lead to the destruction of morality… nothing seems sacred anymore.’

She described her son as a ‘compassionate, wonderful, caring and sincere person’, as well as calling him ‘an amazing father and son’.

But not only does her motherly love go so far as to complain about her son’s job, Barbara admitted that she had never actually seen an episode of the hit sitcom.

Speaking to Destin Log, he added: “I’ve been very encouraging for him to leave the show, but he hasn’t been very successful yet.” I’ve always loved people in this industry who turn down roles because of their convictions, but Patrick is not one of those people.

‘It’s a dichotomy we have… where he wants to put on shows and work with people who offend God. I don’t want to offend God.

PTMC previously filed a formal indecency complaint with the Federal Communications Commission to protest the show’s mockery of Christianity, homosexuality and other topics.

They were particularly offended by an episode that featured “bestiality, orgies, and babies eating sperm.”

When asked about the complaint, Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane said: “That’s like getting hate mail from Hitler.” They are literally terrible human beings. I have read your newsletter, visited your website and they are rotten to the core.

‘For an organization that prides itself on Christian values, I mean, I’m an atheist, so what do I know? — they spend all day hating people…’

While the Family Guy cast has often hit back at critics, they did address concerns raised when a number of animated shows committed to casting actors of color to play non-white roles.

In 2020, Mike Henry stepped down from voicing Cleveland Brown, a black neighbor and friend of the Griffin family, after two decades in the role.

He tweeted at the time: “It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but people of color should play characters of color. So I’m stepping down.”

YouTuber Arif Zahir took on the role, saying, “Mike, you created something truly special and I promise I will do everything I can to honor your legacy.”
