Falcons owner Arthur Blank ‘desperately wants Bill Belichick to be Atlanta’s head coach’ seven years after Patriots epic Super Bowl LI comeback

Atlanta Falcons owner Athur Blank is desperate to hire former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.

The report also noted that the job is Belichick’s if he wants it, but the 71-year-old coach is still 50/50 on taking the position.

Belichick interviewed for the Falcons’ vacant head coaching position for the first time on Monday before wrapping up his second interview with the team on Friday.

Despite Blank’s apparent desire to land Belichick, the team is still doing their due diligence and exploring other candidates to fill former head coach Arthur Smith’s shoes.

The Falcons also scheduled a second interview for Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, which will take place next week.

Even before the news of Blanks’ supposed desperation, Belichick’s former tight end FOX NFL analyst Rob Gronkowski had drunk all the tea when it came to Belichick’s ties to the Falcons, based on his recent comments.

Gronkowski previously reported that the Falcons were “interested” in Belichick and recently referred to the 71-year-old as a “powerhouse” and “still the great Bill Belichick.”
