  • However, the move has stalled following a disagreement over salary contributions
  • Football is changing… managers cannot rely on their reputations. Just look at the Golden Generation – It all starts

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri’s move to Granada has come to a standstill as the Old Trafford club try to convince Omari Forson to stay.

Uruguayan Pellistri wanted to move to La Liga, but Granada only offered a symbolic contribution to his salary.

Talks are ongoing and other clubs are interested, but the other concern for United is that talented 19-year-old Omari Forson has yet to commit to a new contract and Erik ten Hag wants to ensure there is sufficient cover if Pellistri leaves .

Forson, who made his debut in the FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic and has been described as ‘exceptional’ by academy director Nick Cox, is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree a new deal.

If he doesn’t commit, United may have to consider what role he plays between now and May. The England U20 international has interest from rival clubs and was previously linked to the academies of Tottenham and West Ham.
