1. Invest in a vitamin C serum
The first thing Ingrid recommends that you do is invest in a good quality vitamin C serum, as this is the product that plays a “vital role in protecting your skin from UV damage, increasing collagen protection.” and repairing environmental stress”.
“It is a myth that vitamin C should only be applied in the morning,” Ingrid told FEMAIL.
‘Your serum can be applied two to three times a week at night or in the morning after cleansing and before moisturizing.’
The facialist recommends choosing a ‘medical grade quality vitamin C’, which has a high percentage.
The important thing to remember with vitamin C is that you need to use SPF on top of it to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays.
Ingrid (pictured), who cares for the skin of Sydney’s rich and famous, said you need to make sure you apply and reapply SPF to care for your skin.
2. Cut down on sugar and starchy carbs
What you eat often has an impact on your face.
And if you’ve spent the Christmas holidays eating and drinking too much sugar and alcohol, then it’s possible and likely that your face looks a bit puffy.
For this, Ingrid recommends avoiding alcohol, refined sugar, and starchy carbohydrates.
Instead, he recommends incorporating a green juice daily, as well as a clean diet.
“Avocado, dark leafy green salads, and omega-rich fish like salmon, combined with healthy, high-fiber whole grains, will help bring that glow back in no time,” she said.
Ingrid also likes to follow intermittent fasting as a focus from time to time, which helps rebalance her blood sugar levels and allows her hunger to regulate itself again.
3. Apply SPF
“Our skin is more dehydrated from UV exposure in the summer,” Ingrid warned.
“Always apply and reapply your SPF and don’t forget to drink plenty of water, apply hyaluronic acid, and exfoliate with an enzyme-based scrub to remove dead skin cells once or twice a week.”
Hyaluronic acid is a miracle worker for the skin because it helps it “lock in hydration and restore skin’s health after all that champagne you’ve enjoyed.”
When it comes to how much sunscreen to apply, experts generally recommend 1/4 teaspoon for the face and 1/4 teaspoon for the neck.
4. sweat
If there’s one treatment you should be investing in in 2023, it’s an infrared sauna.
Ingrid said they’re a “great way to detoxify skin impurities while also having the benefit of increasing cellular metabolism to kick-start slow cell renewal again.”
“One sauna a week is enough,” said Ingrid.
“Too many can wreak havoc on pigmentation issues, as too much heat can trigger hyperpigmentation.”
The benefits of an infrared sauna include relaxation, pain relief, improved heart health, and relief from sore muscles.

5. Exercise
Finally, Ingrid said that a good exercise regimen will do wonders to improve your skin.
“Your skin is a reflection of how well you pump oxygen through your veins,” he said.
‘Exercise is a no-excuses part of your detox. Commitment to a daily training session will make your skin glow from all that oxygen-rich blood flow.
The facialist recommends removing toxins by sweating and exercising for about 30 minutes daily.
“Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water before, during and after your sessions,” he added.
