Facebook users are just discovering how to recover deleted photos
Facebook users who accidentally have their photos deleted can recover them with a few simple hacks.
A large number of users filed complaints last week following claims that the platform was mysteriously removing photos from people’s profiles.
Some seem to believe that photos that were erased were mostly organized into folders or uploaded via mobile.
While others claim that all their photos have been completely erased, some of which have been around for over a decade.
That’s what a user, James Koopman, told us The sun that their photos gradually began to disappear before his entire collection vanished from his profile.
The only photos left were ‘yesterday’s uploads’ and that was ‘destroyed’.
Many users have had photos on Facebook for years and use them as digital albums.
Tech-savvy Reddit users jumped in and suggested two easy hacks to recover deleted photos.
1. Go to Settings
To recover deleted photos, users can click on the settings panel on the top right corner of the screen.
To perform the method through the Facebook web app, the user must go to Settings and Privacy
You will be greeted with a number of options including Messages, Marketplace, Friends, Dating and more.
2. Find ‘Memories’
In the Settings panel, scroll down until you find “Reminders” with a clock logo next to it.
Reddit users have found a way to recover images from the Memories (photo) tab after being deleted from a Facebook profile
Once there, a list of your memories should appear with all the photos previously shared.
From here, the images can also be saved back to the smartphone for safekeeping.
3. Web App
Another way to do this is to log into the Facebook web app at Facebook.com before opening the “Settings & Privacy” tab and clicking “Your Facebook Information.”
Once clicked, the user should find “Your Facebook Data” where they can transfer copies of their information to their chosen destination
The options include a number of destinations, including Google Photos and Dropbox
Once the destination is selected, a copy of the information can be transferred
The user is then greeted with the option to download their information to a chosen destination, including .
Once the required details are filled, all previously deleted photos can be recovered.
