A fabric that was most associated with fashion in the 1970s is making a surprising comeback.
In the fall, suede has ended up on the catwalks of major fashion houses as well as in regular clothing stores.
Celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Sienna Miller and Hayley Williams have all been spotted wearing the latest must-have suede items, from boots to hats and coats.
Designers like Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu have all incorporated the fabric, once loved by icons like Twiggy and Jane Fonda, into their latest skirts, dresses and jackets.
High Street brands such as Zara and Massimo Dutti have followed suit with their own suede offerings.

Sezane’s suede jacket is a bestseller and is worn by influencer Sofia Richie and the princess’s sister-in-law, Alizee Thevenet.
“Besides the soft and tactile appearance, I love the versatility of suede,” vintage expert Clare Lewis, founder of Retold Vintage, told De Telegraaf.
‘It can easily be combined casually with denim or elevated for a more luxurious look in combination with tailoring. As it is a naturally breathable fabric, it is also a much lighter alternative to leather, meaning it is a beautiful transitional piece in your wardrobe,” she explains.
Suede is a durable, heavy-duty fabric, which means there are many vintage pieces available online at sites like Vinted or in vintage stores.
eBay searches for “suede jacket” have increased by more than 260 percent since July.
“There’s still so much suede out there waiting to be found,” Lewis said.
‘Be sure to check out the options at your local thrift store, vintage store or online reseller.’
Rixo also has a popular suede jacket decorated with a floral pattern in its autumn-winter collection.
“Suede feels softer and more feminine than leather, and Rixo leans into that aesthetic every season,” Orlagh McCloskey, co-founder and creative director of the brand, told the Telegraph.

“It’s such a good transitional piece, and the brown shades of suede are our favorite for layering from winter through summer.”
“A way to add suede to your wardrobe without fully committing to a jacket, skirt or dress can bring to life pieces you already have,” stylist Julia Brennard told the publication.
‘A suede midi skirt can be a fall piece. Wear with a T-shirt and kitten heels for warmer days or a thick sweater and knee-high boots for colder weather.’
