Fabinho has berated three of his Brazilian teammates for joining Manchester United, insisting it is the ‘wrong place’ for them.
Casemiro and Antony both moved to Old Trafford this summer in big deals from Real Madrid and Ajax respectively, while Fred signed in 2018, all three alongside the Liverpool midfielder in Tite’s World Cup squad.
But in comments that could undermine team spirit in the camp, Fabinho told the Brazilian outlet UOL that his countrymen’s trio chose the wrong club – a hint that Liverpool would have been a better place for them.

He insisted that compatriot Casemiro (right) moved to ‘the wrong place in England’ this summer
“When I left and saw him (Casemiro) winning chances at Real, I always sent him a congratulatory message. Regardless of whether we are fighting for position, we get along very well.
He had already said he would like to play in the Premier League. Too bad he went to the wrong place in England, huh?
“I hope he doesn’t improve Manchester United that much. He, Fred, Antony, many Brazilians are going to the wrong place in the country.’

New United manager Erik ten Hag spent £70 million on defensive midfielder Casemiro and £85.5 million on winger Antony from his former club Ajax, while Fred was brought in for £47 million four years ago.
While Fred sometimes struggled to win over bosses and fans, Casemiro was a regular in the midfield bottom, while the exciting Antony scored three goals in six Premier League appearances.
While Fabinho has excelled throughout most of his Liverpool career, massively dominating Jurgen Klopp’s side against their bitter rivals over the past five years, United are four points above the Reds this season as the 29-year-old struggles .
