Haas team principal Guenther Steiner inadvertently revealed how much he wanted Daniel Ricciardo in contract terms after McLaren released him at the end of the 2022 season.
According planetf1, the 33-year-old was seeking $10 million to jump ship.
Steiner is reportedly discussing Ricciardo’s request in the next fifth season of the Netflix series Drive to Survive.
Haas was looking for a replacement driver for Mick Schumacher, and the Australian was ruled out as a solution.
Discussing the matter with top Haas driver Kevin Magnussen, Steiner quickly dropped the option due to demands for money.

“If I’m not racing in F1 then I really want to give myself that break,” he said.
‘If I have free time, I go riding dirt bikes with friends or other adventure type activities.
‘I know that this kind of thing will give me a good head space… it will be a happier approach.
The 2023 F1 season begins with the first race in Bahrain on March 5.
