The Incredible Price Melissa Caddick’s Mansion Sold For Was Revealed

  • The house of a notorious con man went on the market last year
  • Dover Heights property sold for $9.8 million
  • The house was thought to raise $12 million

Melissa Caddick’s Dover Heights mansion sold for $9.8 million.

Bruce Gleeson of Jones Partners, the trustees of the Caddick companies, said Tuesday the sale was “a good result given current market conditions.”

Proceeds from the sale of the home will go to pay off investors who were swindled out of millions of dollars by the missing scam artist.

The liquidation of the house was carried out successfully on January 27, 2023 after being sold on October 28, 2022.

The house was previously thought to sell for around $12 million.

It is believed that the liquidators expected to receive $10 million from the sale of the house.

“We believe the sale price achieved is a strong result, given current market conditions, and will make a significant contribution to the pool of funds available to investors,” Mr Gleeson said at the time of the sale.

“We are very satisfied with the result of the sales campaign and the interest received from potential buyers.”

There was strong interest in the home due to Caddick’s notoriety, with a $10,000 refundable deposit required just to enter the property for an inspection in an attempt to deter sticky spikes.

The house sits on a 4,000-square-foot lot and features four bedrooms, a double garage, a pool, and views of the city skyline.

The recipients also sold jewelry, artwork and designer items ahead of Christmas 2022.

The jewelry and luxury items fetched about $806,000 at auction in November, while his paintings sold for a combined $48,000.

An 18-karat white gold necklace with 13 black sapphires surrounded by diamonds by Stefano Canturi, called “Stella,” sold for $130,000.

Caddick purchased the necklace for $307,000 in 2015.

Meanwhile, her collection of twelve bags sold for $35,000, nearly triple her estimated price.

“We have also received from Christian Dior Australia documents and funds that they held in the name of Melissa Caddick,” Gleeson said.

Mr. Gleeson’s attention will now turn to Mrs. Caddick’s remaining property.

“With respect to the remaining elements of the property in receivership, our efforts will be focused on the Edgecliff property and ultimately on distributing the funds we hold to deep-pocket investors.”

“We will soon provide investors with an update on the receivership and liquidation in general and will hold an investor meeting at the end of February 2023.”

Caddick was last seen at the residence in the early morning hours of November 12, 2020, just one day after ASIC agents and federal police officers raided her home.

His foot washed up on a beach on the south coast of New South Wales in February 2021.
