Extraordinary find on NSW Police car at Perisher ski resort
A skier enjoyed the ‘irony’ when he saw a parking ticket hanging on an unmarked police car at a popular ski resort.
Mick Parker was visiting Perisher in the NSW Snowy Mountains when he noticed the ticket stuck to the windscreen of a vehicle, along with a police cap on the dashboard of an otherwise ordinary car park.
The car also had lights and subtle markings indicating it was an unidentified police vehicle.
New South Wales Police have since confirmed it was an unmarked police car and that they are appealing the fine, saying the vehicle was there “for operational reasons”.
The car was parked in the same spot where Mr. Parker claimed he once received a $100 fine.
“There is no way you could have stood there and written the ticket and not known it was a police car,” Mr Parker said. Yahoo News.

Mr Parker suspected the officer had gone skiing for the day and hoped the flashy cap on the dashboard would prevent any tickets being issued. He found the situation ‘very funny’.
He had little sympathy for the fined officer and claimed that the police in the area… ‘more than hard’ regarding car defects.
“The police are ridiculous there… they sit down and pull all the SUVs over and swap them for wheels,” Parker said.
A New South Wales Police spokesperson confirmed the vehicle was theirs, but said it was ‘in service’ and therefore they wanted the fine waived.
NSW Police have indicated they will appeal the parking fine
“NSWPF understands the unmarked police vehicle was parked at a resort on Kosciuszko Road, Perisher Valley on Thursday,” the spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
The vehicle was there for operational reasons and police are consulting with the relevant region to obtain an exemption.
