Explosion rocks Bankstown apartment as man is rushed to hospital

A man has been rushed to hospital after an explosion believed to be caused by a barbecue fire hit an apartment in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Meredith Street, in Bankstown, on Thursday after a man in his 30s reportedly fell from a window of a block of flats.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia the man suffered serious burns to his arms, leg and face.

He treated the man at the scene and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
