Napoli are reportedly ‘interested’ in signing Manchester United veteran Cristiano Ronaldo, with the striker believed to be willing to make a pay cut to help a transfer.
The Portuguese icon is currently banned from Manchester United’s first team after manager Erik ten Hag denied him training following his actions during last week’s game against Tottenham.
Ronaldo is now believed to be on his way to exit at Old Trafford, with a Serie A return now on the cards, according to The sun.

The report suggests Premier League clubs Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle were interested in signing him, but Manchester United thought a move to a rival club was ‘too risky’.
A source The Sun: “Chelsea were interested in Ronaldo this summer, but he is no longer on their radar. Arsenal and Newcastle realize the quality he would bring to help them achieve their ambitions.
“But both clubs are concerned about the greater impact his arrival could have on the clubs. The most likely destination is now Italy. Napoli were interested in Ronaldo this summer and are still excited.
Adding him to their roster is a step they believe will help in their goal of staying at the top of Serie A and moving up to the Champions League.
Ronaldo has already played in Italy as he enjoyed a good spell at Serie A giants Juventus
“But it’s about whether the club can meet the dazzling wage demands.”
One obstacle that needs to be resolved to make a transfer possible is Ronaldo’s wages.
The Red Devils attacker reportedly earns £360 a week, while Napoli’s biggest earner, Piotr Zielinski, has just a weekly salary of £90k.
However, Ronaldo would like another pay cut so he can force a move to Serie A, a competition he has already impressed with during his time at Juventus.
