I woke up to a rude letter from my neighbour accusing me of an ‘X-rated’ act I’m NOT guilty of… and it only got worse from there

An American woman finds herself at the center of a nasty neighborly dispute after receiving a strongly worded letter accusing her of causing a late-night disturbance – only she claims it wasn’t her.

The Colorado woman shared the ordeal on Reddit after her neighbor slipped a handwritten note under her door.

Her neighbor begged the accused couple to move their bed away from the wall, claiming their ‘activities’ keep her awake every night, despite earplugs and white noise at full volume.

The exhausted writer goes on to explain how their nightly romps have shaken her floor and bed frame, leaving her sleep deprived and forcing her to retreat to her living room for some rest.

The note read: ‘Please pull your bed 2 feet away from the wall. I’m glad you two have sex every night, but I don’t want to hear it or be a part of it. It shakes my entire floor including my bed frame.

“I even changed the orientation of my room so my bed doesn’t share a wall with you and my floor/bed still shakes and I can STILL hear your girl moaning.

“Again, happy for all of you, but I NEED to sleep. I can’t remember the last time I slept more than six hours because your activities keep me awake.

‘I’m now afraid to go to bed. I sleep with earplugs AND a music speaker on full blast of white noise and I can STILL hear you. There have been nights when I had to sleep in my living room.”

The letter left the woman baffled as she insists she and her husband did nothing that was remotely disruptive.

“I wish it was our bed that caused earthquakes, but no, we sleep alone,” she explained in her post.

‘I also heard a bang in the middle of the night, but only twice, so I can’t determine which neighbor it came from. It’s probably an upstairs neighbor.’

Things took a turn when the neighbor confronted her personally, claiming she had contacted other tenants and was convinced the noise was coming from their apartment.

Even though the young woman repeatedly explained that they were not responsible, the neighbor did not seem to believe her.

Her neighbor claimed the loud noises only started when the poster and her husband moved in – which is why she thinks they are the culprits.

To make matters worse, the situation escalated later that evening when the frustrated neighbor started banging on the wall and yelling “shut up,” even though the woman says she and her husband were doing nothing but relaxing.

“My husband was playing video games and I was in the living room,” she explained. “I’m going to have him go talk to her now, so hopefully she hears the noise and sees him at the same time to prove it’s not us!”

The peculiar dispute has sparked online discussions, with many commentators sympathizing with the accused woman.

Some suggested the sound could be coming from a completely different apartment, while others laughed at the awkwardness of being accused of late-night escapades.

‘You received an anonymous note for an issue for which you are not responsible. It’s going in the trash,” someone said.

“If she continues to be aggressive, be sure to let your landlord know,” one woman advised. “She can’t just harass anyone she thinks is making noise.”

Another shared a similar experience: “Years ago, my roommate and I came home from a night out and the neighbors in the building across the street approached us with the window open, complete with screaming.

‘We waited until they finished and then gave them a standing ovation, complete with whistling and cheering. The window slammed shut and we never heard them again.

“Sometimes people think it will be fun if others hear them having loud sex, but when they are confronted with the reality that someone is actually listening, they panic.”
