He loved acting: here he is seen on the set of The Terminal List

Jones had been homeless in Compton, California before getting into fitness and eventually becoming a gym owner at the famous, beloved Beastie Boxing gym in Manhattan Beach.

“Cedric had dedicated his life to helping people in and out of the gym. As a member of both Beastie Boxing and the BMoved Foundation, he inspired and helped people achieve what they previously thought impossible,” said a social media post announcing his death.

His friend Kat Samick – who worked with him on The Terminal List – told DailyMail.com: ‘We will all miss your light, positive attitude and big heart Cedric. Prayers and love to his family,” she said.

Digilio Films added: ‘It is with a heavy heart that the TLIST family says goodbye to Carlo.

‘Cedric had a local boxing gym where I trained. He was a fierce fighter, loving father, but also a dear friend of our Antoine Fuqua.

‘When it came time to make The Terminal List, I discovered an audition by Carlo. Had no idea he was pursuing the dream.

“To me, he was just the guy who humbly kicked my ass in the gym. Antoine, Chris Pratt and I, along with our fellow production team, found a place for Cedric in Steve Horn’s security department, and his work will live on in some of the best episodes of season one.

“We’re sending love to Carlo’s family and sharing some details on ways to support or participate in the memorial this weekend.”

In December 2022, Carlo was seen on the set of The Terminal List with Pratt.

Cedric wrote on Instagram: ‘I’ve had the pleasure of working with @prattprattpratt a few times. He has been sober every time and has always shown his faith. He actually stopped filming to pray for my wife and kids while he was on set due to an accident. #real #actor #faith #star #terminallist #dreamchaser.”

Carlo was loved because he inspired people to work their hardest.

The longtime Compton resident founded the BMoved Foundation to help others in need.

In a 2022 interview with the Daily Breeze, Jones explained that the foundation worked to inspire boys: “It doesn’t matter if you have that or not, they all want to be something; I cannot minimize any child’s problems. If I think I can help them, I will.”

His students went on to earn athletic scholarships from Pepperdine to Tuskegee universities.

A memorial service was held, followed by a memorial run from the Beastie Boxing gym to the Manhattan Beach Pier on October 22.
