EXCLUSIVE: Number of migrants being hospitalized after falling from the border wall has skyrocketed 1,000 PERCENT under Joe Biden due to sheer volume of climbers trying to get into America

The number of migrants falling off the border wall and being hospitalized with serious injuries has risen by 1,000 percent since Joe Biden took office, figures seen by Dailymail.com show.

Hundreds of wall climbers – half of them women – were admitted to a San Diego hospital a few miles from the border with injuries including broken legs and ankles and traumatic brain injuries.

Doctors put the astonishing rise down to the sheer number of people now trying to get over the wall.

US Customs and Border Protection does not keep numbers on how many migrants are found injured near the base of the structure and taken to hospital.

But at Scripps Mercy Hospital, a few miles north of Tijuana, Mexico, there has been an increase in admissions.

Between 2016 and 2020, it was not uncommon to have a month with no border wall falls. In 2020, there were only 34 in total.

But the numbers began to increase dramatically at the beginning of 2021 when Biden was appointed.

By September last year, it had reached 55 in a month, and the total number of seriously injured falls taken to hospital in 2022 was 239.

Across San Diego County — which has two trauma centers for border wall falls — the annual number of serious injuries rose from about 40 to 400 — a 1,000 percent increase.

“We certainly haven’t seen anything like this and I’ve been here for over 20 years,” said Dr. Vishal Bansal, the director of trauma at Scripps, said.

The hospital sees migrant patients from all over the world, including South America, Africa and Asia.

While athletic young men have the best chance of escaping unscathed, it is middle-aged, less agile people who tend to fall.

Some are brought to the hospital with their children who climbed over with them, and the falls have included pregnant women.

They used to be accompanied to the hospital by border patrol agents, but agents are so busy that migrants now arrive unaccompanied.

On why the number of injuries has risen so dramatically, Dr Bansal said: ‘I don’t know the answer. I suspect it’s just the number and volume of patients making the trip to the US

“For example, if you encounter 10 times more, I would expect 10 times as many injuries.”

In 2019, the wall in the area was raised from 17 feet to 30 feet and it has been suggested that this may have contributed to the increase in injuries.

Cartels use ropes and ladders, build makeshift buildings and drive trucks up to the wall to help paying migrants get to the top.

They then try to slide or jump down the metal slats on the other side with nothing to break the descent.

“When they get to the top, that’s where they slip and fall,” Dr Bansal said. “We have no idea how many (backwards) are falling and getting injured on the Mexican side. It could be a very high number.’

The number of migrants trying to cross the border has exploded during Biden’s presidency, with critics blaming him for contributing to the perception that the border was open.

Biden has visited the border only once in his entire 50-year political career.

In January of this year, he made a short visit to a section of the border in El Paso, Texas. he had never been in the division between Mexico and California.

More than 260,000 migrants reportedly crossed the southwestern section of the border last month, the highest monthly figure ever.

Upon taking office, Biden paused the construction of Donald Trump’s border wall, promising that he would “not build another foot.”

But last week, with the number of migrants crossing reaching new heights, his administration agreed to build new sections of the wall in South Texas.

Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Eric Adams went to Mexico last week to beg would-be migrants not to come, accusing Biden of “letting New York City down on this issue.”

A Marquette Law School poll conducted late last month gave Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican nomination, a 24-point advantage over Biden on handling immigration and border security issues.
