Julia Haart says dating for the first time in your 50s is “empowering”, but she vows to never marry again after two divorces.
The star of Netflix series My Unorthodox Life, 52, told MailOnline that after years of being “obedient” and “submissive” growing up in an extremely Orthodox Jewish community, she relishes the opportunity to say “no » to men on dating apps.
She’s officially playing the field after the end of her three-year marriage to tech entrepreneur Silvio Scaglia, 64, who Julia says “blindsided” her by filing for divorce in February last year.
And Julia, who previously compared her first marriage to a “prison”, insists she “never wants to enter into a love contract again”.
In an exclusive interview, the mother-of-four stressed that there is no “shame” in divorce and that “everything doesn’t have to be forever.”

The My Unorthodox Life star told MailOnline that after years of living an “obedient” life in an Orthodox Jewish community, she relishes the opportunity to say “no” to men on dating apps.
Julia, who had already compared her first marriage to a “prison”, insists that she “never wants to enter into a love contract again”
Julia said: “I absolutely believe in marriage and I understand why people get married, especially when you’re younger, marriage is great.
“But at my age, I have my children, I support myself, it’s not about me… it’s about love and companionship.
“Do I think I’ll ever get married again?” No, I don’t… I don’t think I want to renew a love contract one day. But I want someone to choose every day to be with me.
She added: “I’m dating someone…I love it. I’m in my fifties and for the first time in my life I’m dating someone, like I’m officially dating and I’m going out to meet someone.
“When I left the community, the first nine months were all about sexual exploration, and then I met a man, and he became my boyfriend, and I met my husband. Last year, at 52, was the first time I went out properly.
“I found dating to be very stimulating. I never said “no” to men…whatever the men wanted in my community, that’s what they got. I was obedient and submissive, so now it feels amazing to say “no, not you”, “not today”.

After selling insurance without the knowledge of her first husband Yosef Hendler, Julia finally saved enough money to break free from the life she knew.

Julia owns the shapewear brand +Body, which she models alongside her daughters Batsheva and Miriam.
Julia is passionate about creating a product for women that allows them to feel and look sexy after years of believing their own body didn’t belong to them.
Julia says her shapewear is unique because unlike competing brands, her designs are colorful, desirable and available in a range of sizes.
Since then, she has established herself as a key figure in the fashion industry, as former creative director of luxury lingerie brand La Perla and co-owner of Elite World Group, which represents the largest number of modeling agencies in the world.
Julia’s dedication to her craft led to her winning an Icon Award at London Fashion Week, where she was recognized for her “impact” and “innovation” in the industry.
Now the owner of shapewear brand +Body, which she models in these new photos, Julia is passionate about creating a product for women that allows them to feel and look sexy after years of believing that his own body did not belong to him.
She said: “I have a very personal and emotional feeling about it because my whole life my body wasn’t mine.
“I was just another human supposed to have babies and take care of people and be this calm, obedient, silent wife…that was my job.”
“So a woman who doesn’t feel comfortable in her own skin… that’s important and that’s so important to me.”

She added: “The problem with the forms wearing out was that they were ugly and beige, white and black.
Julia, whose children Batsheva, Miriam, Shlomo and Aron star alongside her in My Unorthodox Life, was unable to confirm whether the Netflix series was being renewed for a third series.
Indeed, she suggested that the second opus, released in December 2022, could well be the last (Julia photographed with her daughters Miriam and Batsheva).
“We are the only company where our shapewear is sold not only by dress size, but also by cup size.
“You can buy your size in an AF range, so it really recognizes every curve of a woman’s body.
“One of the models told me it was like liposuction, a tummy tuck and a boob job in a $198 outfit because it makes your breasts pop and holds them in place in a bra that fits you goes and everything else is smoothed and flattered and you”I’m not embarrassed to take it off.
Julia explained that she formulated a new way to dye clothes, which is why her designs for +Body feature vibrant colors such as an alluring red and cyan blue.
She said: “Shapewear is so ugly because it’s compression clothing… as soon as you compress something the fabric stretches and the pattern is distorted because when you dye a garment you can’t stretch it… it’s intentional. regardless of the size it is made in.
“To get the shape to look good, I had to change the way we put the dye into the clothes, so that we’re not just dyeing our clothes, we’re heat fusing them, which is a new process.”
Her biggest competition is arguably Kim Kardashian, owner of shapewear brand Skims – but Julia insists she is not threatened by any other models on the market.
She said: “I love challenges and I love competition… competition is the spice of life. That’s not really the case in this particular situation, I’m not competing with anyone because it’s a new product.
“All the other shapewear, Skims, Spanks, the compression garment, the shapewear itself all look the same.
“Mine is such a different product, it’s his… we’ve almost created a new market.”

She said: “Legally I’m not allowed to say anything, but I’m very grateful for the opportunity to share my story and there’s nothing else I can say.
“Netflix is awesome and they are such lovely human beings. I know there are problems in the industry…I’m ignorant, this is all new to me, but I pray and hope that everyone succeeds and gets the rights they need.
