EXCLUSIVE: Mushroom deaths: Cops are investigating ‘death wall’ in the home of Erin Patterson – after a tradesman found strange graffiti

A wall painted with a series of death messages at the former home of mushroom chef Erin Patterson is being investigated by police, Daily Mail Australia can reveal.

A tradesman took a picture of the wall – desecrated by Mrs Patterson’s children – painting Erin’s house in Korumburra following her divorce from husband Simon Patterson last year.

The wall was daubed scribbled images of daggers and decapitated heads.

It featured scribbles and dark quotes, including the words, “You are dead by the sword.”

Tradie was paid to remove the graffiti before the property was sold, when he created the image.

On Friday, the trafficker, who wished to remain anonymous, told Daily Mail Australia detectives that they would like to get their hands on the image in the days following their raid on Ms Patterson’s current home in Leongatha.

Word of the strange graffiti, scrawled on a dining room wall by Erin’s children, had quickly spread throughout the area – located in eastern Victoria.

“The police have investigated. They wanted to see it. They had heard of it,’ said the trader.

The trader arranged to meet with a detective to hand over the image, which he had already provided to a news organization.

“I said, ‘Yeah, we can catch up and you can watch it’. That was around 3 p.m. and I think it went live around 4 p.m.,” Tradie said.

“It was online within an hour of them calling me.”

The trader told Daily Mail Australia he was tasked with removing the images and words last year as the couple prepared to sell the home, which fetched $545,000 last August.

The images include images of tombstones and bizarre scribbles with themes of death and destruction, drawn in black and red ink – the latter used to symbolize blood.

“It was disturbing. We called it the wall of death,” the tradie said.

“They were done by their daughter (the Pattersons). It’s quite distressing for Mother to let the kids draw on the wall in the dining room.”

The poster-sized drawings showed two tombstones.

Another had the date “August 1, 2021” with the words “you die within a year” below it.

The trader said it took six coats of paint to cover the scribbles. Another person who saw the footage described them as “satanic.”

The revelations came a day after Simon Patterson made his first public appearance since his parents’ tragic deaths Don and Gail Patterson.

Simon paid tribute to his parents in front of some 450 mourners who gathered at the Korumburra Recreation Center.

His estranged wife was nowhere to be seen among the sea of mourners who braved cold and wet conditions to attend.

He told the packed house that his father was known for his fitness, even in his last years.

“His fitness at age 70 – this year – also helped him successfully survive an emergency liver transplant a few weeks ago,” said Simon.

“Although unfortunately the rest of his body was too sick to go beyond that point.”

The private funeral for the Pattersons took place last week, while the funeral for Mrs. Wilkinson has yet to take place.
