EXCLUSIVE: Mitch Taylor DID apply to Love Island several times — despite calling Kady McDermott out for calling him a “show superfan”

Love Island star Mitchel Taylor has signed up three times to be on Love Island but claims not to see the show.

The gas engineer, 27, recently hit out at Kady McDermott after she called him a “superfan” of the series and claimed he’d applied multiple times.

While he may have shot her in a heated Instagram Live last week, Mitch has now confessed to signing up for the show in the past.

Speak on the Entertainment on request podcast Mitch explained, “She calls me a super fan, but I never looked into it.

“I flew away for the winter and while I was there they asked me for my top three and I had to ask my sister because I’m too busy with work so I don’t have time to look at it. The only ones I watched were winter because I was going through and the Tommy and Molly season.”

However, a source told MailOnline: ‘Mitch worked with a PR firm to help him write the best application and applied last summer.

He was then offered a place in the winter series and flew to South Africa, but the producers couldn’t get him the villa.

“Instead, they offered him a spot as an OG Islander this season.”

The winter series aired in January and saw Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan crown the 2023 champions.

Kady previously claimed that Mitchel is a “Love Island superfan,” adding, “He’s smart (because) Mitch studied every Love Island series. He even told me he wants to be a memorable character.”

Mitch mocked the comments during a joint livestream alongside Leah Taylor last week: “You said to keep me close… I’m a super fan – I’ve never seen a series in my life.

‘I didn’t even know who you were when you came in! That was not okay.’

As Kady, 27, reasoned, “There’s nothing wrong with that!” Mitch bounced back, “There’s a lot wrong with that if it ain’t true and you just said it.”

Kady replied, “But I heard you applied four series in a row, so I thought you were just a fan.”

Mitch interjected by claiming “also false,” while Kady continued, “But someone who works from Love Island told me this, but I don’t care Mitch, you know I don’t care that much, I think you’re great.” ‘

The pair then reunited at the Love Island reunion on Sunday, but more drama happened when Mitch and best friend Zach Noble threatened to call Kady because they had a “secret boyfriend.”

A source told MailOnline: ‘The islanders all know about Kady’s boyfriend and were desperate to invite her over at the live reunion, so she had no choice but to face the accusation.

“But Love Island producers warned Zach and Mitch about it and told them to keep the show as ‘friendly’ as possible.”

The insider continued, “They’re embarrassed that Kady’s comeback was their big reveal this season and are disappointed she didn’t admit she had a long-term boyfriend when approached about returning.

“But the islanders can’t be controlled forever, especially since Kady herself is so stubborn… they’ll call her out on the unfairness.”

And Mitch finally had his say now that he’s no longer under the control of producers and living in the TV mansion, saying on the podcast, “Bro what are you doing?”

“She has to be the first Islander to come off — and this is from Messy Mitch — and go on 10 different podcasts and despise everyone and to the point where it’s like calling me and Ella B fake, you came in with a friend. You have a boyfriend to this day.

“And the other girls have told me I’m not going to name names because I’m just taking all of this. You had your friend’s bracelet that he put on you, your friend was at your house while you were there and you call me fake. I was called fake by Kady when Kady did most of it.”

Kady’s ‘secret boyfriend’ is rumored to be Liam Greer, who admitted to money laundering this year and will be sentenced on August 18.

On September 9, 2022, Liam was charged with the crime, just six months after returning with Kady from an idyllic holiday in the Maldives.
