EXCLUSIVE: Jet setting heiress Ariana Rockefeller reveals how she creates the perfect travel wardrobe for all her glamorous jaunts

Ariana Rockefeller, great-granddaughter of John D. Rockefeller, is a New York royalty.

The heiress divides her time between her equestrian life in the Netherlands and the Big Apple, but as a model and philanthropist, her work and interests take her to many fun and luxurious places around the world.

Ariana often channels the low-key luxury aesthetic.

Quiet luxury is the latest trend taking the fashion world by storm. The look – also referred to as ‘stealth wealth’ – consists of understated clothing made of very high quality materials.

Always on the go, Ariana is an expert at putting together an airport outfit that can get her from point A to point B in style.

“I’m going to travel with this,” she said of an organic cotton dress from Guild of Hands.

The beige frock has a pleated skirt and a top with boning and a zipper at the front.

‘It’s perfect: comfortable, lightweight and easy to combine. I still insist on being pulled together for long-haul flights — I just can’t stand sweat — and this day dress is made for it.

“I pair it with flats and a light sweater for those frigid airplane cabins.”

She is a frequent flyer and travels with clean clothes in her hand luggage.

“I always bring pajamas to sleep in, but if I’m awake on a flight, something simple and elegant is ideal.”

According to Ariana, such an elegant dress is also perfect for an afternoon in Milan.

Ariana has signed a contract with the top modeling agency Select, based in Milan, Italy.

“Milan is still pretty hot during Fashion Week in September, so lightweight clothing is. I love this sporty look from Miu Miu.’

With a length of 1.80 meters, a mini skirt showing off her perfect pins is an ideal piece of clothing in the fashion capital of the world and does not take up too much space in the suitcase.

She pairs the bottom with a cropped knit sweater and refines the sporty-chic look with Louboutin mesh flats and a matching Chanel bag.

For the evening, the gorgeous heiress turns up the heat in a flattering, slanted silk slip from Guild of Hands.

“I feel beautiful in it,” she says of the red-hot number.

‘The designer and dear friend, Christy Rilling, is a true artist who knows fabrics and construction so well.

“Maybe I’ll wear this dress to an elegant cocktail hour or an after-party in Milan.”

“I love this little blue dress,” says Ariana as she models a cute Chanel dress in the closet of her New York City apartment.

It’s knitted and super comfortable. It’s a bit chic for Amsterdam, but I’ll definitely wear this on a night out in Athens or Milan.’

A self-proclaimed “pearl girl,” she couldn’t resist pairing it with pearl accessories, including Jimmy Choo sandals and a handbag from Lebanon-based brand Vanina.

Grandpa!

“Athens feels like a home away from home to me,” says Ariana.

‘My friends and managers there have become like family, and I love ancient Greek history and art, so it’s my happy place.

“I always try to make it to the New Acropolis Museum and then my favorite bistro in town: Papadakis from the remarkable chef Argiro Barbarigou.”

For a trip to the dream location, Ariana packs a beautiful Guild of Hands set.

The top is made of raw silk and features hand embroidery, while the silk charmeuse skirt is skewed for a perfect fit.

To complete the ladylike look, she reaches for Manolo Blahnik sandals and a Mark Cross Box Bag.

Pastels are often associated with the warmer months, but “I love summer black,” declares Ariana as a true New Yorker.

And he added, “And it’s softened by flowers.”

She pairs the long-sleeved top with a flattering ruffled waist with a Maura Hoffman linen skirt, and completes the look with a Hermes bag and Chanel mules.

“I could wear this with tea at Claridges or a cocktail at The Ritz in Paris,” Ariana reveals.

In the Netherlands, Ariana spends weekdays riding and training her horses, but she is often in Amsterdam on weekends.

“When I’m not at events or photo shoots, I honestly like to be simple in jeans and a T-shirt,” she admits.

‘I like house music and have made a lot of friends in the music scene in the Netherlands, so this is an easy, but well-felt uniform for a night out in Amsterdam: well-fitting jeans and a vintage T-shirt.

“I also love anything Minnie Mouse and Disney related.”

With her signature long brown locks and barely there makeup, she poses in an Amazon t-shirt, Zara jeans and Gianvito Rossi sandals.

We’ve seen her walk the red carpets and catwalks looking gorgeous in low-key luxury, but applying the same sensibility to her off-duty time means Ariana is just as fashionable on her days off.
