EXCLUSIVE: James Haskell still living at family home in Hampstead in the wake of split from wife Chloe Madeley

James Haskell is still living in his family home with wife Chloe Madeley in the wake of their divorce, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

The former rugby player, 38, and the personal trainer, 36, confirmed their split in a joint statement released on Saturday.

It comes after months of speculation about the couple’s relationship after Chloe emerged without her wedding ring while partying with friends – after James was pictured chatting to a mystery blonde outside a London nightclub.

Since then, the couple – who married in 2018 – have both been seen without their rings on several occasions.

A source told MailOnline: ‘James Haskell is still living at the family home in Hampstead, he returned on Monday and was there yesterday morning.’

Chloe and James were reunited in north London with their daughter Bodhi on Wednesday, after James spent the weekend in Paris for the England v South Africa rugby match.

They looked like a happy family when James confirmed on Instagram on Tuesday that they were both home together after his trip.

He posted a video of their 14-month-old daughter Bodhi driving a toy car in their kitchen.

Chloe was seen playing with the little one, while James shared some encouraging words from behind the camera.

He wrote in the caption, “Bodhi keeps the drive bye high-fives tight.”

But on Saturday they released a joint update, shared on Instagram, which read: ‘Chloe and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September 2023.

“We were not planning to release a statement at this time – especially while the television show was airing – but the continued speculation about our marriage has unfortunately forced our hand.”

Chloe added: ‘Other than this statement we will not be speaking publicly about this matter, and we would ask for privacy at this time.

‘Our sole focus now is on our beautiful daughter. We will continue to co-parent with nothing but love.”

James shared his own statement on Instagram, adding: ‘It is with great sadness that I write this post, but unfortunately in the world we live in it has to be done.

“My priority is the happiness and safety of my daughter and Chloe. For that reason I will make no further comment.”

Earlier this week, Chloe took another swipe at James while answering a fan during a social media Q&A.

A follower shared a question on Instagram asking the TV personality how she handles attention following the release of her new fly-on-the-wall reality show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.

James enjoyed a boozy night out with friends in Paris last Friday when he attended the Blackeye Dry Gin party – a company he co-founded.

Brushing off the drama in the French capital, James appeared to be having the time of his life as he smiled for some photos.

The sportsman helped pour some gin and tonics at the event as he watched England take on South Africa in the Rugby World Cup.

Chloe previously admitted she had “trust issues” within their relationship in resurfaced comments from 2020.

In 2020, the fitness fanatic daughter of Richard and Judy Finnigan opened up about the challenges she and her husband endured.

The new series documents her daily life with former rugby player James and their 14-month-old daughter Bodhi.

The daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan replied: “That’s to be expected when a TV show comes out.

‘100% focused on my daughter, my friends, my family, my work, my health, my reality. That is how.’

Previously, Chloe made a veiled comment about ‘keeping it real’ as she thanked social media followers for praising her new show.

The daughter of TV presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan responded to followers on Tuesday evening after fans responded positively.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘Thank you so much for your BEYOND beautiful messages about the show! I love that so many of you say you find it funny and relatable.

‘The aim was to keep it 100% real, which is scary, so it’s a huge relief, comfort and joy to see so many mums and couples saying this is exactly what they like. Thank you so much.’

Chloe emerged without her wedding ring as she partied with friends in October – shortly after James was pictured chatting to a mystery blonde outside a London nightclub.

It later emerged that the woman was PR director Martine Bridge, a close friend of the former rugby player with connections to the upper echelons of London high society.

Days later, he was seen without his wedding ring while out with daughter Bodhi, the couple’s only child, close to their family home.

In recent scenes from their new reality show, he bore the brunt of Chloe’s frustration after flying to Ibiza for a DJ gig – where he was pictured partying with a group of bikini-clad dancers.

James documented the job on social media and was surrounded by scantily clad women, leaving his wife, who was back in Britain, less than impressed.

After seeing the pictures, she raged: ‘He’s been uploading videos and pictures of all these girls on Instagram, and I was like, “I’ll kill you. I’ll fly to Ibiza and kill you.”

“He posted videos of him with a lot of girls in thongs” because he thinks he looks cool on social media. I’m like you’re a*** and you make me look like an a**. Stop it.’

However, she did admit, “But he loves it. Honestly, at least he’s having fun. You know what I mean.’

Chloe was looking after their 14-month-old daughter Bodhi at home while James was DJing in Ibiza, which he has been doing since retiring from professional rugby.

She said: “I think there is an element of him missing Bodhi. Not me. Definitely not me. But actually he misses Bodhi, and I think he feels a little guilty.”

During a recent interview, James revealed that he had “a few arguments” with his wife after extending his DJ trip.

An island interview with the former rugby player was published earlier this month, days after he was forced to deny any wrongdoing when photos emerged of him looking cozy with a mystery blonde on a night out in London.

Speak with UnfilteredJames revealed that Chloe thinks his trips to Ibiza are a ‘vacation’ for him, and she was furious when he extended his work trip by a few days.

James admitted: ‘My wife thinks DJing in Ibiza is a holiday, it’s a job. We’ve had a few arguments about it. I mean, she’s very supportive, but sort of extending your trip for a few extra days will probably take a little effort.’

The retired athlete said the trip had to be extended, explaining: “I I have to do an interview with you and I have a boat trip later.’
