Britney Spears is ‘disappointed’ that her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, has quit I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – but insiders claim the singer is ‘not surprised’ by the ‘unprofessional behaviour’.
Jamie’s shock departure was announced in a statement on Wednesday, with show bosses revealing the Zoey 101 actress, 32, left the British competition series on ‘medical grounds’ just days after telling campmates she was feeling ’emotionally weak’.
But insiders close to Britney, 41, claim Jamie Lynn had no intention of working on the series for more than 72 hours – the amount of time it takes to earn the hefty paycheck for participating.
“Britney is disappointed, but nothing surprises her anymore when it comes to her family’s unprofessional behavior,” a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.

“Jamie Lynn knew very well when she started this that all she had to do was do the last 72 hours and she would get paid. So that’s what she did.
‘She never intended to stay longer than this. This was just a quick paycheck for her – just like the Special Forces.”
Jamie previously cried her eyes out when she quit Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test after just two days.
At the time, she cited her daughters Maddie, 15, and Ivey, five, as the reason for her departure.
She also had a short-lived stint on Dancing With The Stars after becoming the second celebrity to be eliminated from the current season, along with her partner Alan Bersten, 29.
The source continues, “Unlike her sister, Jamie Lynn doesn’t stick with anything until the end.”
They appeared to question her reason for leaving the show, claiming that she “has no ailments,” adding, “Using a medical condition gets her off the hook without having to explain herself to lay.’
It is not known how much she paid.
Jamie Lynn was accused of having no intention of continuing the series, with insiders claiming she was only interested in staying on for as long as it took to secure her salary.
Britney is believed to be far from sympathetic about Jamie Lynn’s untimely departure, with a source saying she is ‘disappointed’ but ‘not surprised’
During a conversation with her campmates, she said, “I don’t know how I’m so emotionally weak… Why do I cry so much?”
In an attempt to comfort her, costar Danielle Harold said, “Look at the things you’ve been through in your life, right? This, a little rain in the jungle, nothing.”
Jamie Lynn responded, “But at least I could go home to my babies every night, you know? That’s it, that’s all I need in life. It feels a bit overwhelming. They’re not even close.
‘I just have to do it. I don’t know why I’m such a baby.’
During Tuesday night’s episode, viewers watched as she broke down in tears again after being presented with a small piece of chocolate, before being comforted by former boxer Tony Bellew, 40.
“I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much,” she said.
‘I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here. This place is where people go to experience the worst days of their lives.
“Dear God, please help me make it. I think I should leave, I think I should leave.”
Jamie Lynn had spoken about Britney during her time on I’m A Celebrity, despite reports that her sister had imposed a strict ban on mentioning her on-screen as the pair attempted to rebuild their relationship.
Speaking to Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, she had revealed that Britney had asked for crawfish when she performed her Piece Of Me residency in Vegas between 2013 and 2017.
A show spokesperson said Jamie Lynn was “a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”

She said, “We’re from Louisiana, we love crawfish. My sister and all of us love crawfish so much, but she (Britney) only wanted the good crawfish.
“So the company in Louisiana would have them stay overnight for her in a box, in a refrigerator… Even in Vegas she would have crawfish, (she would) eat crawfish in the Elton John suite.”
Louisiana is famous for its crawfish – or crawfish – and popular gatherings include “crawfish boils,” which center on eating the crustaceans.
Viewers saw Jamie Lynn’s departure on Wednesday night’s episode. It has been confirmed that she will not be replaced.
‘Jamie Lynn Spears has I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for medical reasons,” the statement said.
“She has been a fantastic campmate who prevailed in court and bonded with her fellow celebrities.”
Her departure came a day after food critic Grace Dent, 50, quit for medical reasons.
