EXCLUSIVE: Bob Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo lays bare ongoing grief over his sudden death – as she reveals she’s not focused on being ‘robbed’ of time with him after he died aged 65

Kelly Rizzo has opened up about her ongoing grief for her late husband, Bob Saget, admitting she wishes people wouldn’t tell her she was “robbed” by his death.

Full House star Bob died on January 9, 2022 at the age of 65 after suffering a freak head injury in his Florida hotel room, hours after coming off stage from a stand-up show.

His funeral took place less than a week later in Los Angeles, and he was buried in Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery, near the graves of his parents and sister.

Widow Kelly, 44, recalled on DailyMail.com how she tried to stay positive after a comment from one of Bob’s friends at his funeral.

“I had one of Bob’s very good friends at his funeral. I remember him looking at me and saying, ‘You’ve been robbed. It’s not fair. You were robbed,’” she said.

‘I don’t think, even from that moment on, I can think like that anymore. I don’t want to think like that because then I just focus on the negative and I want to focus on the positive.”

When asked how she’s coping with the loss, she continued, “Really being surrounded by an incredible support system and just being grateful, instead of being angry that I didn’t get more time, just being grateful for the time that I had, and that’s really what got me through from day one.”

Bob – a stand-up comedian, actor and TV host best known for his work on America’s Funniest Home Videos and Full House – was found dead at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando hotel.

According to the coroner, he died in his sleep after suffering from a subdural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage, which were likely the result of an accidental blow to the back of the head, most likely a fall.

His funeral was attended by his Full House castmates John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweeten and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, as well as friends and colleagues including Jimmy Kimmel, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and John Mayer.

Kelly met Bob in 2015, and the couple tied the knot three years later.

It was the comedian’s second marriage, after Sherri Kramer, with whom he was married for fifteen years from 1982.

The couple have daughters Aubrey, 36, Lara, 33, and Jennifer, 30.

In May, Kelly celebrated her husband’s 67th birthday with a touching tribute.

On Instagram, she revealed that she would enjoy a cold, extra dry, dirty martini with blue cheese olives in his honor.

“Happy birthday,” she wrote.

”This really never gets less weird or surreal. But gratitude grows every day.

“I will always feel like the luckiest person on earth to have had the privilege of spending six years with this wonderful man.

‘Life is short and we never know how long we will be here.

“And I still take comfort in the fact that Bob used every minute on this planet to live life to the fullest and make the world a better place.

‘To celebrate Bob on his birthday, do what he would do… tell all the people you love that you love them, preferably in a very long and elaborate voice text, dictated by Siri.

“I’m celebrating today with a very cold, extra dry, dirty martini with blue cheese olives (IYKYK). And I hope he’s up there celebrating with a huge cigar (his favorite thing), a martini, and a few dozen oysters while sitting on a beach. He would love that. Thank you all for still loving Bob so much.”

The post featured images during their relationship, including a sweet photo of Kelly kissing her husband and many photos of him enjoying a cigar.

“I wasn’t afraid of the actual challenges,” she admitted. ‘What scared me was the endurance and the sleeping.

‘How am I going to sleep in a room with so many people? Those were the two things that scared me going into it.

“I think what was easy was the bond with the other recruits. There were no weird, awkward situations. Everyone got along really well.’
