Top lawmakers are criticizing the Biden administration for not vigorously opposing China after a shocking new report claims there have been more than 100 cases of US military bases being infiltrated by Chinese nationals.
The Chinese nationals posed as “tourists” and walked toward a missile launch site in New Mexico, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal. In addition, some reportedly acted as divers to get close to a missile launch site in Florida, while others claimed to be staying at an Army base in Alaska.
The officers have reportedly claimed to be tourists who are “lost” and unable to find their way to a Burger King or McDonalds that happen to be close to a US military base.
Government officials say Chinese nationals are often “enlisted” and required to report their findings back to the Chinese government.
“This is just part of the avalanche of Chinese espionage we are dealing with,” Representative Mike Waltz, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com in response. “Communist China will continue to use these types of collectors against US entities to steal intelligence, launch cyber-attacks or use other means such as spy balloons (until) there are consequences.”
“Unfortunately, the Biden administration continues to host high-level meetings with Chinese officials instead of showing any force,” said Waltz, who serves on the House of Representatives’ Armed Services, Foreign Affairs and Intelligence committees.
According to the report, the FBI, Department of Defense and other agencies are aware of the infiltrations and have held summits to address the issue.
R-Iowa Representative Ashley Hinson called it “brutal espionage” by the CCP in a statement to DailyMail.com, accusing Biden of “looking the other way.”
Fort Wainright in Alaska, the center of US military operations in the Arctic, was the subject of an apparent espionage attempt, the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Whether it’s their spies rushing through security checkpoints, diving near a US missile launch site, or crossing a US missile range – it should send a shiver down the spine of any American,” says Hinson, Member of the House Select. Committee for the Communist Party.
This latest bomb comes just months after China’s spy balloon crossed the US. which officials say had rudimentary flight checks passed through a number of nuclear missile facilities in late January and early February.
The balloon was eventually shot down by an F-22 Raptor fighter off the coast of South Carolina.
President Joe Biden was criticized for downplaying the Chinese spy balloon floating across the US, claiming that Beijing may have been unaware of the operation.
“Communist Party espionage will continue to escalate until the Democrats get their heads out of the sand,” Representative Jim Banks, a member of the House Armed Services Committee and CCP Committee, told DailyMail.com.
Most Chinese nationals who are caught are prosecuted, given small fines and asked not to return, as trespass is generally not considered a federal crime.
A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in DC called the report “purely ill-intentioned fabrications.”
We urge relevant U.S. officials to abandon the Cold War mentality, stop baseless accusations, and do more things conducive to increasing mutual trust between the two countries and friendship between the two countries. two peoples,” said Liu Pengyu.
In what the Journal describes as a “recent case,” a group of Chinese citizens claimed they were staying at a Holiday Inn in Fort Wainright, Alaska.
Security at the base immediately came under suspicion because tourism in the area is extremely unusual. The base is host to the U.S. Army’s 11th Airborne Division.
Emily Harding, a former official on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told WSJ that the Chinese espionage operation is more of a numbers game.
‘The advantage of the Chinese is that they are prepared to collect people in large numbers. If a few of them get caught, it will be very difficult for the US government to prove anything other than breaking the law, and those who don’t get caught are likely to collect something useful,” Harding said.
In 2019, three Chinese nationals were sentenced to prison for illegally taking photographs at a Florida naval base.
Lyuyou Liao, 27, was sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to illegally entering NAS Key West and taking photos and video footage of property in the station’s Truman Annex.

Two others, Jielun Zhang, 25, and Yuhao Wang, 24, were sentenced to 12 months and nine months in prison, respectively, for entering the base in January 2019 and taking photos of the military and naval infrastructure.
In the same year, a Chinese woman was sentenced to eight months in prison after entering the Mar-a-Lago estate of then-President Donald Trump along with electronic devices and two passports.
Also in 2019, two Chinese citizens were deported from the US after attempting to drive to the Little Creek-Fort Story Joint Expeditionary Base in Virginia Beach, reported the Virginia pilot.
