Actor Ben O’Toole has unveiled his new Australian Stan Original Series CAPTURED will ‘scratch’ for viewers hungry for some quality Aussie programming.

The Hacksaw Ridge star, 34, plays Rowdy Gaines in the zany six-episode action-comedy series that follows four Australian soldiers sent on a secret mission to a war-torn country.

O’Toole told Daily Mail Australia that his bawdy new series will appeal to many viewers looking for an over-the-top, groundbreaking show.

“I think it will cause an itch that people don’t realize they’ve had for a while.” A lot of things have been censored over the years,” he began.

‘So the Australian audience has been relying on international material for a long time. This show is brave and Stan really wanted to build on every idea we had and take it as far as he could.”

“It’s got two-time Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn in it and we’re doing scenes with him! And it’s a show that my best friend created, so it’s a surreal experience.

“And you’ve got Lost star Matthew Fox in it, he’s so funny. He consistently plays very serious characters, but he’s very funny in this, it’s great,” he said.

The Cairns-born star said he thought the series’ hilarious content would give it broad appeal and was optimistic about its appeal to American audiences.
