EXCLUSIVE: Bella Twins claim Reese Witherspoon IGNORED their ’empowering’ memoir for her book club, as former WWE stars call on Selena Gomez and Jenna Ortega to play them in a film

Nikki and Brie Bella have revealed that actress Reese Witherspoon ignored their pleas for her to publish their empowerment memoir in her popular book club.

The Bella Twins – who now go by their last name ‘Garcia’ – co-authored their tell-all book, Incomparable, which was praised for being ‘raw, honest and revealing’ when it was released in 2020.

At the time, Brie was eager to get the seal of approval from Reese’s club — dubbed “the publishing house’s secret weapon” — but her attempts to contact the Hello Sunshine mogul ultimately fell on deaf ears after she received no response from the star’s company.

“When our book came out, I DMed Reese Witherspoon’s book club,” Brie explained. “I was like, ‘Hey, I know you like stories about women. I think you guys would really like this story. It’s right up Reese’s alley.”

“Nobody ever wrote me back, but I wrote them this long DM. I wrote them twice. I’m like, ‘Hi Sunshine, is anyone home?'”

She continued, “I feel like our stories… wrestling is a big part of it, but there’s so much more of our childhood, what we fought against…

“There’s so much in our story that I think would really empower not just women, but men, and we love that.”

Although Reese’s company never reached out about sharing the memoir with members of the far-reaching book club, Twin Love hosts can still collaborate with the Hollywood actress and producer when it comes to bringing the memoir to life on the big screen.

Hello Sunshine, now valued at $900 million, is behind some of the most successful TV shows and movies of recent years, including Gone Girl, Wild, Where the Crawdads Sing, Daisy Jones & The Six, Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere – all of which are book-to-TV adaptations first mentioned in Reese’s Club.

Nikki said: ‘After we published our memoirs, I always thought, “I’d love to make it into a TV series or a movie.”

“And we’re adding so much more of our lives, so much more of what we couldn’t fit into one memoir. Because technically, Brie and I could probably have written three books in a row.”

When Bella suggested sharing their story as a “series,” conversations turned to who should portray the duo.

Brie was eager to get Reese’s seal of approval, but her attempts to contact the star ultimately fell on deaf ears after she received no response.

The sisters co-authored their tell-all book, Incomparable, which was praised for being “raw, honest and revealing” when it was released in 2020.

Nikki made it clear that Selena Gomez was her top choice, with the twin sisters suggesting she could play both roles, as Lindsay Lohan did in 1998’s The Parent Trap.

She also expressed interest in seeing Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, 21, play a role, while Brie gushed, “Actually her and Selena would be good!”

The pair are reluctant to star in a potential adaptation, but they are excited about the idea of pursuing acting while continuing their lives as superstar wrestlers.

Brie joked, “The Rock, John Cena, Dave Batista, get out of the way. The Garcias are coming!’

She continued: “The strike is over and I’m glad everything has been resolved because we really want to get out. Even superhero movies. Yeah, that would be cool.’

The mother-of-two added: “But there is so much in her depth. And if you read our book Incomparable, you can see her and I, we’ve been through it, so we do have the emotion for it, but she and I really want to get into scripted (work)’.

For now, the busy couple can be seen hosting the Prime Video dating series Twin Love. In the dating competition show, ten twins are split up and placed in two houses to test whether they pursue the same love interest as their twin brother.

Nikki teased viewers about what to expect from the remaining episodes, saying, “Eliminations are wild because there is elimination in one house. So Brie’s house is elimination night. Whichever twin brother is eliminated, he must come to my house, grab his twin brother and leave.

“Even if their twins are in love, it doesn’t matter. And I thought that was crazy.’

She continued, “Also, towards the end of the season, we throw all the twins back together in the same house.

“Because a big part of going through that journey is being judged by your other twin when you’re with someone, which can ruin a lot of relationships. So when that happens, it’s amazing.”

Earlier this year, the sisters announced their official retirement from WWE, revealing that they are also retiring their stage name Bella – and using their birth name of Garcia instead.

“Today we are officially as of now: the Garcia Twins, Brie and Nikki Garcia,” Nikki said on their podcast The Nikki & Brie Show on SiriusXM.

Twin Love is available to stream on Prime Video and Amazon Freevee.
