EXCLUSIVE: Australian band Lime Cordiale announce surprising new career move and launch their very own range of beer
Australian band Lime Cordiale have launched their own beer range, Largo brewing.
The brothers, made up of Oli and Louis Leimbach, announced their own range of ‘clean’ beers in August before the records hit drinks shelves earlier this month.
While they aren’t the first Australian celebrities to jump on board the profitable project β stars such as Abbie Chatfield, The Inspired Uneloosen and surfer Mick Fanning also have their own beers β the pair insist their range is different and better than most.
Largo Brewing is carbon neutral, meaning it reduces and offsets carbon emissions to reduce its impact on the earth.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Oli and Louis explained that drinkers should not feel guilty about what they consume and enjoy.
βWe just wanted to drink a carbon neutral beer because you don’t have to feel bad about buying it,β the guys said.
‘With everything that’s coming out now, we’re so obsessed with consuming s**t β whether it’s clothes or food in little plastic bags, chippies β I think you have to feel good about it.’
Lime Cordiale hails from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and coined the name of their beer from a term they used during their high school years.

The surfers created an acronym ‘Late ARvo Glass Off’ for their afternoons on the water, surfing and golfing with their friends.
βIt’s like, as soon as you turn 18 you think, ‘How sick would it be to have your own beer?’β Oli explained.
“It’s a dreamlike thing to do.”
The winners of the ARIA Award said that they especially wanted to have their own beer, because they were ‘tired of drinking the same beers over and over again’ backstage at their shows.

‘After three shows you’re like, “Argh, I can’t believe we have the same beer.” You have to do it differently,β Oli added.
Oli and Louis have two types of beer in the Largo range.
Clean Lager is what they describe as an ‘easy drinking and refreshing’ beer, and The Dawdler, a medium strength and low carb option.
The drink’s unique can art was designed using lino printing by Louis, who has also designed every album cover the band has released.
βI’ve been playing with linocuts for a while,β he said.

Louis added: ‘For Largo, I wanted to create a distinctive look that expresses my own personal style while showcasing the true meaning of Late ARvo Glass Off.’
Despite the successful launch of the alcoholic drink, the band admitted that they won’t be hanging up their musical instruments anytime soon.
‘Music comes first. But beer comes second,β Louis told Daily Mail Australia.
‘We love bringing people together. Whether it concerns putting on a show, a ride to the coast or brewing a very nice beer.’
Largo brewing is available in selected Dan Murphy’s, BWS stores and Jimmy Brings locations across Australia
