“It has the power to transport, which shares a synergy with wearing beautiful jewelry,” said Zena, who is famous for manufactured Kyle and Tegan Sandilands’ $1 million wedding bands.
The dazzling necklace, inspired by the four characters in The Tales of Hoffmann, took painstaking planning, detailed sketches and relentless handwork in K’dor’s studio.
A spectacular 7.11 ct round brilliant cut diamond represents Olympia; a 1.90 ct red garnet for Antonia; an 8.22-carat blue-green sapphire for Giulietta; and a rare 26ct ‘Red on Black Opal’ for Stella, featuring a unique harlequin pattern that reflects iridescent colours.

The mastermind behind the necklace, jeweler Zena K’dor, (pictured) who put the bling in the Kyle and Tegan Sandilands’ $1 million wedding ring, described her partnership with Opera Australia as an “incredible honour.”
These gemstones are complemented by 120 additional brilliant-cut natural diamonds, all set in 18ct white gold.
The tribute to Australian heritage, with the use of Australian gemstones, further establishes a link between the jewel, the opera star and the place where she performs.
Jessica Pratt expressed her excitement, saying: ‘I feel really special to be honored with the creation of this incredible necklace to celebrate my performance at Opera Australia’s Hoffmann.
“The attention to detail and the symbolism behind the design make it even more meaningful.”
Conceived by the Franco-German composer Jacques Offenbach in the late 1870s, The Tales of Hoffmann interweaves drama with fantasy and tells a story of love, desire and poetry.
