‘If I offended people, I apologized for it. I don’t think like that and I’m not a vulgar person. But Ellie and I talked about it before.
“In my gut, I was like, ‘I don’t know how this is going to be received,’ but since we’re friends and Ellie was like, ‘Yeah, why don’t we just say that,’ I thought, ‘Cool!’ But my right instinct!
‘What I should have said was “This will be the only time I have a BRIT tonight!” before adding: “Next time I want to be up there winning one.”
Tom’s new album, What Ifs & Maybes, will be released in June this year and as he prepares to go on tour, he has revealed what song he is looking forward to playing.
“I’m very excited to play a new song called Head Up, it’s not out yet,” he said.
The lyrics are: “You keep my head up, above the water, sometimes it feels like you’re fighting the tide, afraid to fall for the one you found, but I met love and she keeps my head up.” “‘
“It’s about being happy and being able to say ‘I’m good where I am and I can swim in deep.'”
