EXC: Kimberley Walsh confirms Girls Aloud WILL release new music in TWO MONTHS

Kimberley Walsh has confirmed that new Girls Aloud music is on the way.

The 41-year-old singer rose to fame as one-fifth of the UK’s best-selling girl group of the 21st century, alongside bandmates Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and the late Sarah Harding.

But they decided to hang up their mics for good in 2013 following their 10th anniversary tour, having previously disbanded in 2009.

With just two months to go until their first album, Sound Of The Underground, turns 20, Kimberley has exclusively told MailOnline that the girls will be releasing some previously unreleased tracks to celebrate the occasion.

Last year, they released a never-before-heard demo version of their debut single on seven-inch vinyl to mark their anniversary.

In memory of Sarah, who passed away from breast cancer in September 2021, 100% of the proceeds went to The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal, part of The Christie Charitable Fund.

And announcing news sure to delight fans, the Bradford native said: “We’ve got some fun alternate versions of songs and little re-releases just to mark that because, you know, it’s a big deal.”

’20 years is a long time and the love we still have for Sound Of The Underground and some of the songs on the first album is still huge.

“So it still feels like something to celebrate, but in a low-key way, I guess.”

But unfortunately, Kimberley said she wouldn’t be back in the studio with her Love Machine follow-up singers anytime soon.

She confessed: ‘We’re not really doing anything together as a group for obvious reasons.

“I think there’s already been a re-release of Sound Of The Underground with different girls singing different lyrics, which is really fun.

‘I mean, if you’re a fan, it’s fun. I’m not sure how much fun it is if you don’t like Girls Aloud. But yeah, just stuff like that.

She shares her sons Bobby, eight, and Cole, six, and Nate, 22 months, with her Triple 8 star husband Justin Scott, 40, whom she married in 2016.

When asked if her kids are fans of Girls Aloud, the actress said: “Yes, they are!

“Just the two older ones are starting to get involved a little more, particularly Bobby, because he’s eight now and I think a lot of kids at school are starting to reference him, so he’s actually starting to listen a little more now.” . .

He says, “Everyone else seems to be excited about it. Maybe I should be a little more.” But you know, before that, I really didn’t have much interest in what happened before he was born.
