Ex-USMNT star Eric Wynalda ‘named in battery report after clash involving teen while coaching son’s soccer team’

Former U.S. international Eric Wynalda has reportedly been named in a battery report involving a teenager after a fight broke out while he was coaching his son’s soccer team.

The 54-year-old, who won 106 caps for his country between 1990 and 2000, is accused of throwing insults at a teenager from the opposition team.

According to TMZciting a Las Vegas police report, Wynalda called the boy a “b****” and insulted his mother.

The coach – who reportedly denies any wrongdoing – was at the center of the initial altercation, with an opposing player admitting to police that he had pushed Wynalda after they confronted each other.

That led to a fight between the two teams, with the teenager claiming he had suffered scratches.

However, according to TMZ, he is unsure whether it was Wynalda or a player who caused the injury.

Another opponent is accused of throwing the ball at Wynalda, with the ball appearing to hit the coach in the face.

A parent reportedly called 911 to report the incident, which reportedly started after Wynalda’s son was forced off the field after being on the receiving end of a bad tackle.

Opposition players are then accused of trash-talking the father-of-six, who scored 34 goals during his international career with the United States national team.
