Ex-Scientologist claims that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis did not know their letters supporting Danny Masterson would be made public – and says the actor ‘knows very well the kind of guy that he was’

A former Scientologist has claimed that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were unaware their letters in support of Danny Masterson would be made public – and that Kutcher “knows full well what kind of man he was.”

Aaron Smith-Levin, who grew up in the Church of Scientology, said he speaks with Masterson’s rape victims every day. The actor was found guilty of raping two women in the 2000s and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.

He told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that Ashton Kutcher knew “very well” what type of person convicted rapist Masterson was when he wrote a character reference for his That ’70s Show co-star.

Mila and her husband Ashton called their friend Danny an “extremely honest” person who has a “huge positive influence” on those around him.

But Kutcher’s hands are also “dirty,” Smith-Levin claims.

Smith-Levin said: “I think when Ashton says it was intended to be read by the judge, that actually means we thought no one would see these letters. And when you actually read the letters, it doesn’t just say, oh, you know, think of his poor daughter, you know, his daughter, shouldn’t have to grow up without a father for more than fifteen years.

“The letters even went so far as to say that Danny Masterson is essentially the kindest, gentlest and most gracious person I have ever known. I never knew him as anything other than a wonderful person.

“And it’s just not true. Ashton’s hands are pretty dirty in his complicity in some of the behavior Danny Masterson has displayed over the last 30 years. Danny Masterson was one of his best friends.

“Ashton Kutcher knows the kind of man Danny Masterson was very well. I mean, when you read the letters, it’s shocking.”

About Kunis’ involvement, he said: ‘I think Mila Kunis is someone who herself was abused from a young age.

“She was 14 years old when she started acting on that show, Danny was 22 or 23, Ashton Kutcher was 19.

“Some of the things that have come out on social media in recent days are extremely inappropriate sexual behavior between the group, mostly involving Mila, so it’s hard for me to judge or blame Mila too much, honestly .

“But it’s very easy to blame, Ashton.”

Aaron Smith-Levin added: ‘One of the things that has been thoroughly documented in this case is that if a Scientologist Drugging and violently raping other members is not enough to get you expelled, but telling the authorities that you were raped by a Scientologist is enough to get you expelled.”

In the short video posted by husband and wife Ashton, 45, and Mila, 40, after the outrage, he said: ‘We are aware of the hurt caused by the character letters we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson.

“We support victims,” Mila added. “We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.”

Ashton continued: “A few months ago Danny’s family contacted us and they asked us to write character letters to represent the person we had known for 25 years so that the judge could take that fully into account in relation to sentencing. ‘

Mila continued, “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the legal system or the validity of the jury’s verdict.”

‘They were intended to be read by the judge. And not to undermine the victims’ testimonies or retraumatize them in any way.

‘We would never want to do that. And we are sorry if that occurred,” Ashton emphasized.

“Our hearts go out to anyone who has ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape,” Mila said in closing their statement.

Masterson was sentenced last week to 30 years to life in prison after a jury found him guilty of raping two women in the early 2000s.

Since the actors’ letters were released, fans have reacted with outrage online.

A former supporter wrote on a recent Instagram post from Kutcher, “I’m not a fan of cancel culture, but I’ll make an exception for you two.”

Someone else added: ‘Hard fuck, pass you two. How the mighty have fallen.”

The couple supported their former That 70s Show castmate by submitting individual submissions to the court, despite him having already been convicted of raping two women.

In the letters obtained by DailyMail.com, both Kunis and Kutcher — who is credited as co-founder and board chairman of a nonprofit that claims to help combat child sex exploitation — spoke highly of Masterson, claiming that he “always treated people with decency, equality and generosity.’

In his letter to the judge, Kutcher wrote, “He is an extremely honest and intentional human being.

“I don’t remember him ever lying to me during our 25-year relationship. He taught me to be direct and to tackle problems in life and relationships head on, solve them and move forward.

‘Danny is a person who is always there for you when you need him.

“Not only is he a good friend to me, I have seen him be a good friend to others and the kind of brother others would be happy to have.”

Kunis, who has been married to Kutcher for eight years, said she “wholeheartedly” vouched for Masterson’s “exceptional character” and the “tremendous positive influence” he has on those around him, including her.

Kunis said: “Danny Masterson’s warmth, humor and positive outlook on life have been a driving force in shaping my character and the way I approach life’s challenges.

She claimed Masterson is an “excellent role model” and celebrated his strength in staying away from drugs.

“His dedication to avoiding all substances has not only inspired me, but countless others around us,” Kunis wrote.
