Ex-Premier League star offers to ‘come out of retirement’ to join Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham for FREE
Former Premier League star is offering to follow in Ben Foster’s footsteps and ‘come out of retirement’ to join Hollywood-owned Wrexham for FREE… and says he will donate his salary to a charity that choose fans!
- Wrexham are top of the National League, four points ahead of Notts County
- With a win, the team from Wales is promoted to League Two, with currently 107 points
- An ex-Premier League player has told Ryan Reynolds he is joining for free
A former Premier League star has offered to join Ryan Reynold and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham and play for free next season.
The Wales side are on the verge of securing promotion to the football league and are currently four points clear of runners-up Notts County on 107 points.
With Ben Foster coming out of retirement early to join the National League giants this season, an ex-Premier League star and former teammate of Foster’s has volunteered to do the same.
And after Wrexham’s 3-0 win over Yeovil which saw Yeovil relegated, Reynolds and Co would have to make another decision regarding potential summer revenues.
Convincing Foster to retire and join them proved to be a smart move as the footballer turned YouTuber saved a stunning last minute penalty against Notts County to put the title in the hands of Wrexham.

Ben Foster came out of retirement this year to join Wrexham and has been vital to the side
The 40-year-old later revealed his close bond with co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney when he opened up their meeting shortly after his penalty save.
“Rob kissed me full on the lips and Ryan called me a double handsome b*****d,” Foster said after the game. ‘I’ll take that.
“They’re so happy, if you could order an absolute bob, first-class, first-class owner, you’d just pack them in pairs because they’re as good as they get.”
“It means so much to them, they care so much, they are doing it right. I’ve been here for three weeks now and it’s running so professionally you won’t believe it. It’s ridiculous how they do it, so fair play to them they deserve everything they get.’
Foster could now be joined by his former West Bromwich Albion teammate in Wales
The attacker took to Instagram to offer himself to Wrexham and play for free
Now Foster can be joined by a former teammate of his and another ex-Premier League and Euro 2016 star as the Hollywood fairy tale continues.
Former Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu has offered his services to Wrexham from next season when he took to Instagram to propose his signature to Reynolds.
Commenting on the owner’s post, he volunteered for next season, saying: ‘I’m coming out of retirement to play for Wrexham next season.
“I also give my salary to the charity the fans choose.”
The offer to have his salary donated to a charity of the Wrexham fan’s choice could prove to be a popular move as the Wales side hope to climb the football ladder soon.
It remains to be seen if Reynolds will get in touch with Robson-Kanu, who became a Welsh hero at the 2016 European Championships and produced a memorable strike against Belgium to send his side to the semi-finals before crashing out.
