Ex-Premier League director Claudia Arney is lined up as the new Kingfisher boss

Starts in June: Claudia Arney will succeed Andrew Cosslett at Kingfisher

A former Premier League executive will take over as chairman of B&Q and Screwfix owner Kingfisher this summer.

The FTSE 100 company said Claudia Arney will succeed Andrew Cosslett when he steps down in June after seven years in the role.

Arney, 53, has been a member of Kingfisher’s board since 2018 as an independent non-executive director and chairs the remuneration committee.

She is also chairman of takeaway company Deliveroo and a non-executive at property investment group Derwent London and has previously held board positions at the Premier League, Halfords, Ocado and Aviva.

Arney received £86,300 from Kingfisher last year, while Cosslett received £511,100 and CEO Thierry Garnier received £1.9 million.

She also received £425,000 from Deliveroo and £82,500 from Derwent London.

Arney called Kingfisher a “fantastic company” and added: “It’s an honor to take on the role.”
