Former New England Patriot Scott Zolak said on his radio show Wednesday that the Minnesota Vikings “contacted” Tom Brady about the possibility of him returning to the playing field to become the team’s quarterback.
However, Zolak suggested that Brady turned down the Vikings for a second comeback to the NFL.
It’s unclear when the alleged denial occurred, but it makes the most sense that it happened after Minnesota’s season-ending starter, Kirk Cousins, suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury on Oct. 29.
Instead, the Vikings acquired Joshua Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals to try to make a playoff push in Cousins’ absence.
The show discussed the possibility of the seven-time Super Bowl winner coming to the Bengals’ aid after Joe Burrow was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury, but Zolak also ruled out that possibility, insisting that Brady was “done.”

No one from the Minnesota organization has commented on the alleged investigation.
Zolak also claimed that the Miami Dolphins contacted Brady in March about returning to football.
Brady completed his first retirement within 40 days of the 2021 season and returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year.
Since hanging up his shoulder pads earlier this year, Brady has insisted several times that his playing career is over.
Earlier this week, Brady made headlines for saying, “There’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL.”
Brady turned 46 in August and is on track to join FOX Sports’ NFL broadcast team for the 2024 season.
