Ex-NFL star-turned-exec Adrian Wilson arrested on domestic violence charges amid allegations of ‘intentional assault causing physical injury’
Former Arizona Cardinals star turned NFL executive Adrian Wilson has been arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, on three counts of domestic violence, Scottsdale police said.
The 44-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily injury, destruction of property valued at $250 to $2,000 and disorderly conduct, disruptive conduct or fighting, according to police.
Although the date of his arrest was not listed in the documents, Wilson posted his bail on June 1.
Wilson returns to court on July 16 for a virtual case management conference.
The former safety played 13 years in the NFL. Wilson played 12 seasons for the Cardinals after being drafted in the third round in 2001. After his release in 2013, he joined the New England Patriots the following season.

According to police reports, his charges include assault causing bodily injury, damaging property valued at $250 to $2,000, and disorderly and disruptive conduct.
Wilson joined the Chicago Bears’ training camp in 2014 but was cut before the start of the season.
After retiring as a playing player, Wilson joined the Cardinals’ front office in 2015 as a regional scout. He was subsequently promoted to director of pro scouting in 2019 and vice president of pro scouting in 2021.
Seeking a bigger role, Wilson applied to become general manager of the New York Giants in 2022 and was linked to the vacancy for GM of the Jacksonville Jaguars, but did not receive any offers for either position.
Wilson remained in the Grand Canyon State and was named the Cardinals’ interim general manager in late 2022 after Steve Keim was out for health reasons.

Wilson then applied for the Cardinals’ general manager vacancy in early 2023, but had no luck with the promotion.
In February 2023, he left the Cardinals to become vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers, a job he recently left, just 18 months after joining.
“Adrian Wilson will no longer serve as vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesperson said, according to ESPN. “In accordance with our organizational policies regarding personnel matters, we will not be providing further comment.”
