Ex-NFL star Robert Quinn is seen in horrific mugshot after ‘trying to flee accident scene’ in South Carolina

Former first-round NFL Draft pick Robert Quinn has been arrested in South Carolina, where police say he was caught fleeing the scene of an accident.

The retired defensive end and once-feared pass rusher is seen in a gruesome mugshot from Charleston County, where the 34-year-old was booked and released earlier Friday. Quinn, a former star with the St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys, is depicted in the disturbing image with bloody wounds across his forehead, nose, mouth and temple.

He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and reckless driving.

Police in North Charleston responded to a local car dealership early Friday morning after reports of a collision involving a red truck.

The local fire department was first on the scene and later told police that the suspect appeared to be trying to flee the scene in another car.

When police finally arrived, they found Quinn in the passenger seat of a white Dodge Challenger. The driver then told officers that she had been called by Quinn to “pick him up,” according to the police report provided to DailyMail.com. That woman is said to work at G-Club, a local gentlemen’s club where Quinn was seen earlier that evening.

Quinn’s speech was slurred and uncooperative with officers, according to police, who alleged he asked “where’s my wallet” while holding it in his hand.

He even tried to avoid arrest by keeping the vehicle’s door closed, but was eventually removed and “escorted to the ground,” police said.

Officers say a maroon Ford F-150 registered to Quinn was present and appeared to have struck the passenger side of a Honda Element, which then flew into several other cars.

Surveillance cameras show Quinn’s truck driving down the road around 2 a.m. Friday before crossing an intersection and a median before pulling into the dealership.

According to the police, the collision was not seen on camera, but was heard by others.

At 2:03 p.m., police say, a single person is seen walking across the parking lot to a nearby gas station before turning back and tripping several times.

Shortly thereafter, the Dodge Challenger arrived, according to police.

A first-round draft pick out of North Carolina in 2008, Quinn played for the Rams, Dolphins, Cowboys, Bears and Eagles during a solid career that saw him earn three Pro Bowl nods.

This isn’t the first vehicle charge Quinn has faced.

In August 2023, he was charged in South Carolina for crashing into several cars before hitting a woman.

“He was very combative,” a local resident told WCSC at the time. “He kept saying, ‘Oh, don’t worry, I’ll buy you new cars, I’ll buy you a new car, let’s go to the dealer.’

“I told him to get off my property and he then put his hands on me and hit me not once but twice.”

He was also arrested in Missouri in 2012 on charges of DWI.
